ahoka··on Looking at Unity made me understand the point of C++ coroutines
IIRC generators and co-routines are equivalent in a sense that you can implement one with the other.
ahoka··on Meta told to pay $375M for misleading users over child safety
Easy: regulation always favors incumbents.
ahoka··on Why I forked httpx
I don't think HTTPX is a registered trademark.
ahoka··on Arm AGI CPU
Exactly. :-)
ahoka··on Arm AGI CPU
All processors have memory on the same die.
ahoka··on A Japanese glossary of chopsticks faux pas (2022)
As hilariously portrayed in the indie game "Oh...Sir!! The Insult Simulator".
ahoka··on Store birth date in systemd for age verification
Meta gives money to the Heritage Foundation? Wild.
ahoka··on Measuring progress toward AGI: A cognitive framework
I find it very interesting about the Turing test that as chatbots improve, so do humans get better at recognizing them.
ahoka··on Meta’s renewed commitment to jemalloc
AVX maybe?

ahoka··on Beyond has dropped “meat” from its name and expanded its high-protein drink line
It's because the meat industry is a welfare queen. In my local supermarket last year I could buy pork for ~8 EUR by kg, but champignons costed 10 (Nordic country).
ahoka··on Treasure hunter freed from jail after refusing to turn over shipwreck gold
How do you sell it?
ahoka··on The Appalling Stupidity of Spotify's AI DJ
The MF what?

Not open but stupid, IMHO.
ahoka··on ATMs didn’t kill bank teller jobs, but the iPhone did
An American colleague once said the following: if something is stupidly inefficient or done in an illogical way in the US, it's because someone makes money on it.
ahoka··on US private credit defaults hit record 9.2% in 2025, Fitch says
"That begs the question, is waste and inefficiency socially undesirable? Maybe not."

Organic farming is one example.

ahoka··on Rebasing in Magit
/usr/bin/time emacs -Q -e kill-emacs 0.03 real 0.02 user 0.00 sys

Altough I'm not using Emacs.app.

ahoka··on Workers who love ‘synergizing paradigms’ might be bad at their jobs
No, that’s mescaline (Spanish for tequila).
ahoka··on GPT‑5.3 Instant
That explains why I intrinsically "trust" Sonnet 4.6 the most.
ahoka··on Mount Mayhem at Netflix: Scaling Containers on Modern CPUs
It's quite logical that by saturating your CPU it can only decrease performance.
ahoka··on NASA announces overhaul of Artemis program amid safety concerns, delays
Now tell the fake story about the moneys and the ladder too.
ahoka··on FreeBSD doesn't have Wi-Fi driver for my old MacBook, so AI built one for me
In olden times someone trying to fix a BSD driver could have a peek at the GPL one, but that was gray area copyright wise (basically you would not admit it publicly for this reason). If a 850 billion USD company does it, then it's perfectly fine, it seems.
ahoka··on FreeBSD doesn't have Wi-Fi driver for my old MacBook, so AI built one for me
That pesky GPL does not stop us anymore, cool.
ahoka··on When etcd crashes, check your disks first
Getting into an inconsistent state does not just mean “losing a few seconds”.
ahoka··on Claws are now a new layer on top of LLM agents
Ex cathedra.
ahoka··on Don't Trust the Salt: AI Summarization, Multilingual Safety, and LLM Guardrails
"I guess in English it would be equivalent to frat-bro talk."

But it does that!

ahoka··on 15 years later, Microsoft morged my diagram
Yes. This is expected at any serious company as intellectual property violations can have serious consequences.
ahoka··on Neurons outside the brain
That's where I have stopped reading.
ahoka··on Slopware AI: Ship Garbage Even Faster
It has reached singularity.
ahoka··on Show HN: SQL-tap – Real-time SQL traffic viewer for PostgreSQL and MySQL
Or log_statement = 'all' in Postgres.
