adius··on Show HN: Rust Flashcards – 557 open-source cards to learn Rust
The official one is solid: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ankimobile-flashcards/id373493...

It's not cheap at 24.99 $, but for the amount of work they put in I think it's fair to support them like this!

adius··on LiteJQ: Jq Support in SQLite
Thanks, this is really helpful!

Is there any way to write "malicious" jq code (endless loops, IO, …)?

adius··on LaTeX and Neovim for technical note-taking
That looks really nice! However, for me a flashcard app is one of the apps where I don't want to use commercial offerings if the source code isn't available as well. It involves just too much set up time to have it vanish one day.
adius··on Clean your codebase with basic information theory
I am working on storing code in SQLite: https://mailchi.mp/62e9b4a81f16/cosuz
adius··on Ask HN: Easiest way to create a CRUD web app in 2024?
We're trying to build this with https://www.airsequel.com.

So far it generates the whole backend from the SQLite database schema and we'll include an automatic webapp generator soon.

adius··on Wddbfs – Mount a SQLite database as a filesystem
I'm also working on something like this:

https://github.com/Airsequel/SQLiteDAV

My mapping is: table -> dir, row -> dir, cell -> file

adius··on SQLite-Web: Web-based SQLite database browser written in Python
We think SQLite in a commercial setting is perfect and that’s why we built https://airsequel.com. A full fledged SQLite hosting platform with an automatic GraphQL API, cloud functions, dashboards, … We totally agree that most enterprise software is too complicated for “normal” businesses. Those tools were often developed by the biggest fish for their outsized problems.
adius··on SQLite-Web: Web-based SQLite database browser written in Python
If you’re interested in hosting your SQLite databases online for sharing, collaboration, and as the backbone of your apps, please check out https://airsequel.com. We’ve been working on it for the last 2 years and our next release is going to be the 1.0! Let me know what you think
adius··on Ask HN: Do you know any companies that use Django and SQLite in production?
That problem should be easily solvable by activating the WAL mode: https://www.sqlite.org/wal.html. Also make sure to set busy timeout to something > 0 (e.g. 5000 = 5 seconds). This will let the database simply try again with a backoff if the database is currently busy (which usually only spans a few milliseconds anyways). This solved many production problems for me.
adius··on Sqlite3 Utility in the Browser
If you want to take it to the next level, we’re building https://www.airsequel.com, a full fledged SQLite hosting platform!
adius··on scrapscript.py
Nothing crashed and burned. Elm is in a state where it’s fully usable and has all the futures you need. I use it every day!

Since it’s a DSL to create HTML + JS + CSS websites, you still get all the new features of browsers!

adius··on Rescript 11 Is Out
Congratulations! Looking forward to trying it out!

I was never quite sure what to make of ReScript, but after working on a larger TypeScript project, I understand the appeal. TypeScript's type system is just a little too loose and you keep fighting your colleagues who will try to insert `any` wherever they can. Just to get bitten by it a few weeks later …

adius··on Csvlens: Command line CSV file viewer. Like less but made for CSV
I found the perfect solution for me with https://www.moderncsv.com. Starts fast, focused GUI, fully featured, no bullshit!
adius··on Ask HN: What are you passionate about at the moment?
Building infrastructure to make SQLite databases more useful.

- https://airsequel.com - SQLite hosting platform

- https://github.com/Airsequel/SQLiteDAV - WebDAV server for SQLite databases

- https://github.com/Airsequel/SQLiteGPT - Call ChatGPT directly in SQL queries

adius··on Show HN: SQLiteDAV – A WebDAV Server for SQLite Databases
Cool, let me know how it goes! =)

Yeah, being able to immediately edit files with your favorite local tools is a big advantage over an online data management system. That's one of the things I'm most excited about!

adius··on SQLiteDAV – A WebDAV Server for SQLite Databases
Hi, happy to see this on HN. I'm the author, AMA! =)
adius··on Paperless-ngx – Open source document management system
I tried a lot of them and Scanner Pro is the most user friendly and focused one in my opinion. Supports Workflows to automatically upload to Dropbox etc.
adius··on Show HN: Sheet Music Management App
Here is our announcement blog post with some more details and a short roadmap:

https://blog.airsequel.com/announcing-airsequel-sheet-music/

adius··on Erlang/OTP 26.1 Released
For me: Proper type system. But they are apparently working on it, so there is hope: https://elixir-lang.org/blog/2023/06/22/type-system-updates-...
adius··on Show HN: Sheet Music Management App
It's supposed to be used to manage your own collection of sheet music, so yes, you have to upload everything yourself. It supports most image formats (JPEG, PNG, …), SVGs, and PDFs. I recommend using SVGs because it has the best quality to file-size ratio and unlike for PDF all pages can be loaded in parallel.
adius··on Show HN: Sheet Music Management App
Yeah, no offline mode yet, but we're planing to open source the core SQLite to GraphQL engine underlying Airsequel. Then you could simply have the SQLite database and the GraphQL API server offline and connect the sheet music app to that!
adius··on Show HN: Sheet Music Management App
I got the AOC Q24V4EA QHD Monitor. Really good value for the money. I've tried several display dimensions and I think 2560 x 1440 works really well for sheet music. (Of course 4K would be better, but I don't want to pay that kind of money for a screen that is standing on my piano and gets only used irregularly)
adius··on Radioactive spill near Richland WA worse than expected
This is the headline for everybody who’s wondering why Germany is so anti nuclear …
adius··on Awesome Music Theory: books, links, videos, research, visuals, composition
Similar, but with a focus on music production: https://github.com/ad-si/awesome-music-production
adius··on SQL function for SQLite to directly query OpenAI's ChatGPT
Happy to see this pop up again here. I think it holds immense potential and I can’t wait so see what people will do with it! Let me know if you have any questions!
adius··on Show HN: SQLiteGPT – Directly query ChatGPT with SQL functions
Cool! Thanks for the pointer, this could actually come in handy in the future =)
adius··on Chat with your database using AI
Nice job! We're building something similar for SQLite databases at https://www.airsequel.com. It's not mentioned on the landing page yet, but in our SQL workbench you can already use an AI prompt to generate SQL queries. We think it's important to also show the SQL query and make it editable so that the user can immediately fix simple errors, which is often faster than re-prompting.

We're also working on AI assisted initial database generation (aka dump any data and let the AI figure out how to build up a database from it) and AI assisted Charts / Dashboard generation, which will both be released soon!

adius··on Ask HN: Tools to learn music theory?
I’ve been curating a list of music resources on GitHub for quite a while: https://github.com/ad-si/awesome-music-production This should be very helpful on your quest!
adius··on A Relational Spreadsheet
I’m currently working on https://www.airsequel.com, which includes a spreadsheet interface for SQLite databases. By now I use it for most stuff I would have used Excel/Apple Numbers before.
adius··on Ask HN: What would be your stack if you are building an MVP today?
Frontend: Elm + Tailwind, Backend: Haskell (or some instant API Generator like Postgrest / Airsequel), Database: SQLite, Automation: n8n / Pipedream / Zapier / …

The strong typing of purely functional languages makes refactoring a breeze and let’s you quickly iterate and move from prototype to production.
