Size Size Size Size Size. People want to be able to put all their music on their iPods. Using lossless formats they're not able to with the low-end players.
Looking at Alexa's top 50, Flickr seems to be one of the few web 2.0 companies up there. I'm disqualifying Wordpress.com because of the mass amount of blogs hosted there, which if is considered web 2.0 then Blogger would have to be included as well.
'Probably' does not constitute a black and white line. Although this topic will be covered on the news over the next week, it is one that pertains to majority of the users' interests, and is highly tech related.
I like Twitter because it can be accessed from so many different mediums: IM, SMS, Web, and probably more. FriendFeed doesn't have this yet, and because of the lack of a 140 char restriction, probably never will have the extension Twitter has.
I wouldn't call it a card game, but rather a board game. After all, that's what product it was being compared to. Still, it sounds pretty cool that the kid is being taken seriously.
The article fails to mention how Microsoft has so obviously given up Vista. Just because it's embracing multiple platforms shouldn't be indicative of anything.
It took pressure from the FCC to get them to stop.
Their new plan does seem a nice one though. At the busier times of web traffic those using the most bandwidth will be throttled, not just the bittorrenters.
High Quality isn't the default because if overnight YouTube made the switch their servers would be hammered and most likely go down the following day at multiple times.
Google's probably going to gradually add the feature, until they feel they have enough server power on YouTube to handle the traffic.
I use a laptop and desktop next to each other when I'm at home, and I like to think I'm more productive than I'd be with just one monitor. If I'm compiling or converting or doing something processor intensive on one computer, it's easy to keep an api reference up on another screen for easy looking up of functions, or any other web related issues.
This place is still widely undiscovered, and I'm sure easily moderated if need be. There's always the possibility the site'll get over run with juveniles, but with such a clear cut topic of submissions, it's a slim chance for the foreseeable future.
Seriously, an RSS reader'll take up all my internet surfing. It's a tossup from there. I follow interesting articles I find, but it's not like they're all on one site.
As far as I can tell, socialthing! doesn't yet have RSS Feeds, something crucial to my intake of information. It's a real nifty service, with a lot of eyecandy, but Friend Feed takes the hat with it's features and service supports... for now.
Going off hug a movie, the site seems a little slow in loading, which goes against the purpose of the page, which looks to be rating items at a fast interval.
If Windows Live Search and Yahoo Search can't provide as good of results as Google (assuming they can't based off of Google's increasing market share), does Quaero even stand a chance?
It's true that you could do it without jpegs, but using jpegs produce the most compatibility, as it'll work within the older IE and Netscape Browsers. Using fonts is an iffy affair, as across systems/browsers there'll be differences in formatting and available fonts to choose.
