addandsubtract··on Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.8 Flash Cyber
As someone with a Pro subscription, I had access to 3.7 the day it came out. Expecting to have access to 3.8 now, too. It's only the free accounts that are behind.
addandsubtract··on Dwarf Fortress' creator says the industry's in shambles over AI
I've only seen proof-of-concepts, like Vaudeville[1]. I think more work is currently done in the modding scene, for example with Mantella[2] which, "brings every NPC in Skyrim and Fallout 4 to life with AI."

addandsubtract··on Run macOS Software on Linux
Photoshop / Adobe apps are mainly holding me back from switching to Linux completely.
addandsubtract··on Our decision on Cursor following its acquisition by SpaceX
What's wrong with using VSCode with your model / API key of choice?
addandsubtract··on Microduck
Exiting out of vim nightmare mode.
addandsubtract··on Show HN: Build your own theme park
I asked for a theme park in space with aliens, but it just loaded a generic(?) park, with 5 different themed "islands", but none of them are space themed. Do I need an account to actually create a prompt?
addandsubtract··on Coding expertise is going to collapse from AI reliance
> The point is that AI is aware of constraints and can manage a round it.

Only if you instruct it with constraints. Otherwise, it's happy to implement whatever workaround it needs. But it still takes a dev to know what those constraints are and why they're needed.

addandsubtract··on DeepSeek-v4-flash-vision-exp
Do you publish your benchmark somewhere? What's the best vision (captioning) AI you've come across?
addandsubtract··on The coolest anti-surveillance tools at Defcon [video]
Yea, it's the OUI Spy board: https://github.com/colonelpanichacks/oui-spy
addandsubtract··on Nearly 1,400 live streams from Japan
There's this stream[1], of AI agents working(?), between Osaka and Kobe.

addandsubtract··on Casio F-B100W-1A
I just use 24h time in the afternoon.
addandsubtract··on Show HN: Automatically detect and patch walking-dead states in Sierra games
Pressing random buttons before you know the language of the game your playing is peak gaming childhood for me.
addandsubtract··on Anthropic's ‘watermark’ text adulteration in Claude is a perversion of writing
There was an earlier instance of this here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48734373
addandsubtract··on Show HN: Mic Drop, a real-time multiplayer karaoke game
They might be reusing assets over their games, but the game came out in 2017, long before AI assets were a thing.
addandsubtract··on Every fucking website: 2026 edition
It's missing the captcha that fails to load and then makes you retry three times.
addandsubtract··on Every fucking website: 2026 edition
There's nothing wrong with it, per se. It's just that it's overused and filled with random garbage stats that no one cares about.
addandsubtract··on Don't classify, hallucinate
If there is no truth, there is no wrong.
addandsubtract··on The hardest working font in Manhattan (2025)
Regardless of the content, what other 50x11cm mass produced metal signs are there? I was thinking street name signs, before reading the examples.
addandsubtract··on Carolina Cloud pays SOFR on unused prepaid credits
Probably because you can't turn credits back into cash.
addandsubtract··on GCC steering committee announces AI policy
More and more of these AI comment threads are starting to read like messages in The Talos Principal.
addandsubtract··on The coolest use for the Vision Pro
I did this. Less so for the sun light entering the windows (albeit a great idea), but more so for making sure I'd see the sunsets. There are great websites that will let you see the sunrise and sunset directions for any given day of the year.
addandsubtract··on Kimi K3 Now Available via Telnyx Inference API
Soon, we're gonna need a router for all the different routers.
addandsubtract··on Our position on open-weights models
How about we don't let the leading model makers make the rules? How about we make AI models that were trained on public data public goods? Let's circle back on that, kthxbye.
addandsubtract··on If coding has been solved, why does software keep getting worse?
Well, I would want the new app to steal focus, but only if I haven't (re-)focused a different app while said app was launching.
addandsubtract··on Startup founders urge U.S. government not to shut off Chinese open weight AI
The ones at home land on a dinner plate.
addandsubtract··on Startup founders urge U.S. government not to shut off Chinese open weight AI
They signed the letter to prevent the banning on open-weight models.
addandsubtract··on ICE to Pay Thomson Reuters $125M to Find Voter Fraud
You can sell your bet at any time, though. So if you put $100 on NO while it's at 3¢ and then sell them next week at 4¢, you're getting $133 back. You're not necessarily betting on the outcome, but on the sentiment over time.
addandsubtract··on Orion Browser by Kagi
Someone needs a history lesson...
addandsubtract··on Jellyfin founder Andrew leaves team
I run Jellyfin in Docker on an N100 mini PC without problems.
addandsubtract··on Kimi K3 is now live
Sounds like a job for AI.
