It evens out over time.

ad31mar··on Launch HN: Art in Res (YC W20) – Buy art directly from artists
Wow, as an artist and founder of a similar initiative [0], I have to admit you've absolutely nailed it with Art in Res. Have you got any job openings? :)

ad31mar··on Ask HN: What projects are you working on now?
Oh, and of course, a soul project [2]. It's an online gallery with contemporary works by emerging artists.

Funny how meta this is, but I'm now working on a project [1] to help others find short dotcoms for their own projects.

This just goes to show, once again, what a ridiculous clusterfuck of greed and outright criminiality this "industry" is.

And I was worried about my little manifesto [1] being too straightforward. Time to spice it up, I guess.

Pretty sure this will get downvoted, but just 5% Bitcoin + 95% cash has historically beaten equities with less risk.

Oh awesome, looking forward to your submission! I'll see what I can do about the filters.
ad31mar··on Show HN: I built a marketplace for affordable art
There's a short manifesto [0] explaining it in more detail, but it's basically a service connecting artists looking to recoup the cost of art supplies with art lovers who are looking for a bargain, with a bit of curation going on to keep the obviously bad works in the dump. Looking for feedback.

Good catch, thanks! I changed the currency from EUR to USD recently and forgot about the measurements. As for not liking anything, I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A marketplace to connect artists looking to recoup the cost of supplies with art lovers who are looking for a bargain. Didn't pick up, even tho the initial feedback was great - guess the demand wasn't there after all, from both sides. It's still live, only losing money.

Recently launched a service to serve nice (or so I thought) dotcoms at well below market value, however it doesn't seem to be picking up the traction I was expecting.

ad31mar··on Show HN: Damnshort – dotcoms for startups and side projects
Hey all, I'm Adrian, the founder of damnshort. I thought I'd do something with "Change Your Name" [1] in mind. I'm searching for and adding the domains manually, however I intend on making this process at least semi-automatic in the future. My goal is to offer dotcoms that are short, pronounceable and memorable. Something a startup would genuinely want to use.
