aDemoUzer··on Show HN: Keyword Tool to Find Available Domain Names
When I scroll down a little and try to highlight a domain name, as soon as I click on the white-space, it scrolls to the top. All I am trying to do is highlight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBDPYnNryJE&hd=1

Great tool. I like its results more than impossibilit...

aDemoUzer··on Ask HN: I'm an unemployed programmer in SF that will work for minimum wage
Investor demo means you are still talking about your startup. The poster meant you go to Hacker Dojo not to pitch your startup but to network and get hired.

From what I can tell, you first need to say to youself, "I am done with my startup, now to get a job." Then your talking should be focused on getting yourself a job. Only look for minimum wage job if you are financially desperate.

Otherwise, spend the time figuring out which start-up to apply for. I graduated last May and it took me 8 months to land my first "real" job. The key component I learned is that out-of-college will have a hard time landing contract or a job at big companies. Your best place to land a job at is a start-up because they are more willing to look over lack of work-experience for having actual skill set. As long as you are good at programming, you will be able to land a job.

I also took a different approach than you. Instead of going directly into start-up, I decided to first work at a start-up and learn how the start-up world works. I realized early on that I am more of the type who likes to learn from others experience, as to avoid making same mistakes and to do things that would actually make my startup successful. For me, learning on-the-job at a startup means figuring out your own way of doing things that work, but it also means you don't get benefit of taking into account how others dealt with the same issue.

On a side not, AppMakr is hiring! http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/web/2230975872.html If you feel you are up for the job, don't be shy to apply/

aDemoUzer··on Ask HN: Why are some sites - like TechCrunch - so slow to respond upon loading?
you can't read the full story on the reader? or by "full story" are u adding in the comments? I see all of the text of the story, right in the reader.
aDemoUzer··on [dead]
should change name cause it sounds like thirsty, but u spell it differently. Would be impossible for me to correctly type the sites name at the first try.
aDemoUzer··on Ask HN: Why are some sites - like TechCrunch - so slow to respond upon loading?

aDemoUzer··on Why We Stick With PHP (and don't move to Ruby or Python)
I had read the Python Paradox 2 months ago and had agreed with it. A month ago, I got a job at a company which uses Python. I had not used it before, for I am a PHP-guy. I learned Python because I wanted to get the job. I continue to use PHP for my own personal projects. Hence, I disagree with the statement "people don't learn Python because it will get them a job; they learn it because they genuinely like to program and aren't satisfied with the languages they already know." I am actually quite satisfied with PHP - it is still my primary language choice, while I learn Python on the side.
aDemoUzer··on Ask HN: How have people working for my start-up if I have no way to pay them?
Interns.

aDemoUzer··on Ask HN: How to avoid working in all-male work environments as a programmer?
Live in an environment where a lot of different start-ups co-exist. I have been having a better chances of a meeting a female each day at the kitchen, every so often. Not that I have a chance in the world with them, but I have my dreams, man. I have my dreams!

aDemoUzer··on Ask HN: Will there be any Facebook killer in the near future?
After reading the comments, I am more for that there will be another site that will allow users to waste time. It is not just either a site kills Facebook or it does not. I don't think hype around Facebook can kill entrants. If the entrants dies, it will be because of their own poor execution or just having something that users don't need. The fact is, if you create something that users want and you can spread the word about it, you will get the users, regardless of how big other websites are. You do have to understand why Facebook is so popular. They have made themselves a platform, which attracts developers and gives them a way to keep the website fresh and have something new over the years. Emergence of Facebook does not makes it Google killer, both companies have their own problems that they are trying to solve. There is room for co-existence.
aDemoUzer··on IE9 vs. Firefox 4 (done in canvas)
Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate was released and FF wanted to make a point that regardless of what M$ says, IE still sucks.
aDemoUzer··on Remind HN: It's Valentine's day
