from Wittgenstein's Philosophical Investigations §217: 'If I have exhausted the justifications, I have reached bedrock and my spade is turned. Then I am inclined to say: "This is simply what I do."'

Nothing changes. Except, perhaps Facebook might be around a while. What are your thresholds for relying on a service? I still backup my google and fb data.

There has already been an exodus of talent. I know one personally, and know of a lot more. They lock them down with non-disclosure settlements. Bad management, internecine politics, the whole caboodle. A pity, because it could have been very good, but they went with exactly the wrong team, and insisted people move from the Bay to Florida, which didn't help with retention.

I'm certain lisper [parent] knows these, indeed may well have worked with PG in the past, but for those who don't, here's some useful linky: http://www.paulgraham.com/lisp.html

Cognitively, people do slow down after 21 or so. It is likely not to be a linear process, but I'm sure a quick google of research will find this. It is not, as suggested by the other comment, spurious feeling, but a well-known cognitive fact about humans. And experience in eal things doens't help with random tests, expecially if you're 20 more years away from your CS finals.

Whether this translates into a perceptible disadvantage in code tests is less likely to have been tested, but it is given what we know, and given other arguments above, quite possible and indeed likely.

There are more productive dislikes.. I'm afraid you'll have to learn to be content with it, or the anger will consume you.

I understand this too, as it'sa place where social errors can't happen and we can escape. However, there are ways to undo these habits, which will allow for much more connected IRL life.
