__m··on Clay – UI Layout Library
Should that be part of a layout engine though? I’d expect to insert a tree of nodes with styling information that affect layout and receive a tree with calculated x, y, width and height for its elements.
__m··on The 1955 Le Mans disaster changed motorsport
Yeah let’s not compare per capita or historic responsibility, or their huge investments in renewable energy, I don’t want to lower my first world lifestyle.

People will probably avoid going to the doctor if they have to pay cash, missing the opportunity to detect the big things early.
__m··on Show HN: JavaFX app recreating the Omegle chat service experience with ChatGPT
You removed the misconduct but also the whole appeal of talking to a stranger, you don't get that by talking to ChatGPT. Maybe focus on removing the misconduct using AI while still having real humans talk to each other.
__m··on US airlines transported passengers over two light-years since the last crash
I'd say the activity of flying is more dangerous unless you have the training of a commercial pilot, see the accident rate of general aviation
__m··on Cybertruck's Many Recalls
> which people do a lot with Musk stuff.

Rightfully so? I mean you can't build up a personality cult and then separate the guy from the product.

But regardless of musk, you have to agree that the cybertruck has issues and underdelivered.

__m··on Cybertruck's Many Recalls
Except that this is car development with clear guidelines and if you don't adhere to them you have to live with your bugs being labeled as recalls. People should be made aware of when players don't adhere to industry standards with safety implications and you don't get that by just sweeping them under the carpet as "bugs".
__m··on Frosted glass from games to the web
It depends, it’s seen as an expensive operation when you have to fit it into the rendering budget of a game, for a website it’s probably nothing.

__m··on New Apple security feature reboots iPhones after 3 days, researchers confirm
Yeah shortcuts could be much more useful. I wanted to make a post request when I arrive at some place with some additional javascript logic to update an authentication token. It just doesn’t work when running in the background, I have to manually trigger it
__m··on SpaceX Pitches NASA on 'Marslink,' a Version of Starlink for the Red Planet
Definitely something the Department Of Government Efficiency should look into. That seems to be a huge waste of money.

__m··on Elon Musk ordered to attend Philadelphia court hearing over $1M giveaway
It's called checks an balances. Their motivation doesn't matter. If you don't take the time to uphold democracy, why even bother with physical crime? They don't expect him to randomly appear, it's a direct consequence of him personally engaging in election interference.

One of them is a real engineer, the other one is a back seat engineer.

__m··on Wordpress.org Login: "I am not affiliated with WP Engine in any way"
Wordpress itself is a fork, so they had to keep the license
__m··on My first game with Carimbo, my homemade engine
There is WebGPU, but support isn’t widespread yet. Compared to WebGL it does allow you to create compute “shaders”
__m··on WP Engine sent “cease and desist” letter to Automattic
Yeah but people don't like to be manipulated. He didn't want to call them out, he wanted them to pay his company millions for licensing and used the community as leverage.

And the ones you find at the CCC are probably not to keen on helping them
__m··on Why is pain so exhausting?
Same goes for anxiety, in the short term it protects you from danger, but when it gets out of control it dictates your whole lifestyle and turns your life to hell.

To what end? Capturing it would mean you are already too late
__m··on GM electric vehicles can now access Tesla Superchargers
> Crazy how no one else could figure this out.

Tesla obviously didn't figure out how to do it with third parties either. It's about cooperation and politics, not so much about the technical implementation.
