I use the Add-In "Un-trap for youtube". It can block recommendations, redirect the main page to your watch-later-list and disable shorts, among many other things. It doesn't solve the core of the problem by itself of course. Sometimes I find myself procrastinating here instead...

Do americans really get that much spam? I don't see the point of this. You can unsubscribe most superfluous newsletters anyway and you have a spam filter. A few intelligently chosen folders and inbox zero is a piece of cake.

If you carpool for money, you're a taxi. And if you take a friend on your plane, and he gives you x€ afterwards for gas money, how is that illegal?

I'm sure you're right about the compliance thing in general, but I don't get your example.
