I haven't figured out how to translate that to writing code or building a product. What would it be: Write a for-loop everyday on some code kata type stuff? Write down a business idea once a day?

I like walking around the mall after a day of work and examining the typefaces used in all the store windows. I am a programmer first, so its probably pretty boring to the average designer. For me, its like there is this whole new world [typography] that I didn't know existed. I always thought it was "just words", much like how I thought cooking was "just following a recipe" (Cooking is my other personal interest outside of coding).
I have been trying to learn about typography, passively, for the past couple months. Anything sans serif looks like Helvetica to me.
Is what the Jedi master said (RIP).
Have you given HaikuOS any time ?
To prevent himself from crossing all the way over the "genius gap" into deep sleep, he would nap with his hand propped up on his elbow while he clutched a handful of ball-bearings. Then he would just drift off to sleep, knowing that his subconscious mind would take up the challenge of his problem and provide a solution. As soon as he went into too deep a sleep, his hand would drop and the ball-bearings would spill noisily on the floor, waking him up again. He'd then write down whatever was in his mind.

javascript:var tags=document.getElementsByTagName("a"); for (var i in tags) { if (tags[i].href.search(/jpeg|jpg|png/) !== -1) { var img = document.createElement("img"); img.src = tags[i].href;img.width = '400';tags[i].parentNode.appendChild(img); } }
EDIT: Eh... It could use some help ..I am not so sure that makes it a good idea though. Why undermine something so deliberate?
"Obligatory 'Have you tried tmux?!?!'"
I deleted it because I thought HN might think I was trolling or something.
I only ask because my set up was exactly like what you just described. Once I buckled down and started using one, it negated the need for a lot of the tags I had with dwm.

I recall reading a Plan 9 pdf on the Acme editor (sorry cant find it right now). A unique feature to that text editor is that it is heavily mouse-based. This is contrary to many peoples (myself, at the time, included) belief that both hands on the keyboard equals increased productivity.
I used to be 100% dwm. The euphoria of navigating around with your home row was great (vim + vimperator + dwm). When I purchased a MB, I left my tiled-wm ways and have not really missed it. Switching my hand from keyboard to mouse feels more natural than a lot of awkward <Ctrl+__> or <Alt+__> commands. Plus, most TWMs I have used require a decent amount of time upfront to become accustomed to all the keybindings. The time difference in switching between mouse and keyboard vs just using the keyboard is so trivial that it really isnt worth the plunge in my opinion, though if you think you might like it better, by all means try it.
Something such as a unified desktop (OS X, Haiku, Gnome, KDE) will make you more productive rather than a window manager that optimizes for pixel real estate.
Oddly, jslint.js is just fine on either end of the spectrum, but probably isn't intended for your end-user.
Instead of html + css + sql + js + (python, ruby, [FotM]) its just html + css + sql + js? I would not be surprised to see html + css + sql + js (dom manipulation) + js (server side). The only benefit I see is that one could re-use their input validation.
Are there any examples of this in the wild? I have heard many claim that using JS on both sides is a big win, but have yet to come across anyone actually doing it (genuine question, it is something I would like to take notes from).
