ZekeSulastin··on Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds
What specifically is entitled about expecting a properly-working game on the platform said game is released on, especially the consoles where not having to waste time and effort to "debug, alter, or otherwise hack games" is one of their selling points?
ZekeSulastin··on Bitcoin Hits New All-Time High
Don't most stock brokers support options these days? I know Schwab does - you just have to apply first. (unless you meant crypto options >.>)
ZekeSulastin··on AirPods Max
At least in the US domestic market, it seems like every airline just does in-flight streaming to your own phone or tablet now anyways :p
ZekeSulastin··on App lets banks lock your financed phone if you default on payment
Remote disable systems (and GPS tracking etc!) are mostly seen at/associated with “Buy Here Pay Here” type used car dealerships that target buyers with poor credit. It probably wasn’t much of a stretch for tracker manufacturers who already produced devices for fleet vehicles.

ZekeSulastin··on AMD Reveals the Radeon RX 6000 Series, Coming November 18th
I thought ROCm didn't support RDNA1 as of yet, let alone RDNA2.
ZekeSulastin··on iSH Shell
It actually did in TestFlight, but they removed `apk` from the included filesystem as part of the app review process. It's pretty easy to go onto Alpine's website and get a different filesystem to import, though ...
ZekeSulastin··on Apple’s T2 security chip jailbreak
10 years of support on the latest driver branch (current branch goes back to the 600 series, and the 400 series was dropped in June) doesn’t exactly seem like a small amount of time.
ZekeSulastin··on AMD Announces Ryzen “Zen 3” and Radeon “RDNA2” Presentations for October
Am I the only person on this site who has had no issues with the blob (aside from Wayland), especially on desktop? The last actual thing that I remember being a bit of a pain was an Optimus laptop years ago but from what I understand that’s finally been officially fixed; the desktop cards worked quite well, including the 2060 in my current desktop.
ZekeSulastin··on Is There a Google-Free Future for Firefox?
Like Pocket/etc.? I seem to remember the userbase of sites like this excoriating Mozilla for including that, so I would assume any such effort now would be similarly rejected.
ZekeSulastin··on Mozilla lays off 250 employees while it refocuses on commercial products
The browser built around ad replacement and blockchain payments? Seriously?
ZekeSulastin··on Windows 10: HOSTS file blocking telemetry is now flagged as a risk
I downloaded the unc0ver IPA just now. Still there. Ran a scan on my downloads folder to see if it gets picked up. Still there. Don't know what the heck is going on with your system shrug
ZekeSulastin··on Australia to make Facebook, Google pay for news
Wouldn't the competitors then have to do the same thing though, thereby reducing the incentive to compete?
ZekeSulastin··on The Billionaire Behind Efforts to Kill the U.S. Postal Service [pdf]
Speaking from my anecdata on both the retail customer and business customer side, if you've never had a problem with a given carrier you are damned lucky and should probably go buy lottery tickets.
ZekeSulastin··on The Uncertain Future of Ham Radio
Don't worry - in many states anyone can just get a copy of the voter rolls including names, addresses, etc.: https://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/access...
ZekeSulastin··on Don't close your MacBook with a cover over the camera
The proposed solution and criteria at the bottom of the linked page seem to do exactly what everyone in this thread is asking for.
ZekeSulastin··on Mpv drops GNOME support (reverted later)
Getting linked to the argument between ddevault and wm4 over the latter’s hate of XDG directory spec made my night; thanks.
ZekeSulastin··on U.S. Supreme Court deems half of Oklahoma a Native American reservation
Federal court, as per the Major Crimes Act.
ZekeSulastin··on When you type realty.com into Safari it takes you to realtor.com
iPhone 11 on the iOS 14 beta and it takes me to realty.com as desired. Wonder if it's just inconsistency or something that has been fixed.
ZekeSulastin··on Apple WWDC Keynote
I thought the vast majority of the WWDC schedule was devoted to more specialized talks? IIRC this year they are posting prerecorded sessions online with access to engineers in the forums and additionally doing 1-on-1 labs.

((Edit - linked last year's schedule by mistake woops))

ZekeSulastin··on My 2020 desk setup
Fair enough! For other people coming across the thread, the repo for the modules is here (sorry for not posting this in the original post: https://github.com/EHfive/pulseaudio-modules-bt)

Good news is that there's some more activity towards upstreaming them; at least in my experience, they Just Worked(TM) as far as the system automatically selecting LDAP or AAC as needed.

ZekeSulastin··on My 2020 desk setup
The WH-1000XM3 are just about the only recommended bluetooth headphone anymore that makes switching devices that much of a pain. Most will either automatically switch between a few active devices or allow you to switch by just initiating the connection from the target device.

Have you looked at installing the patched pulseaudio-bluetooth modules to gain LDAC support? :)

ZekeSulastin··on Bye, Amazon
That depends on whether or not their individual state is effectively processing both regular unemployment and the federal side effectively and whether or not the state side is being contested. Also, that ends in July currently whereas there have been complaints about Amazon warehouses (and other jobs) well before the pandemic.
ZekeSulastin··on Social distancing is bringing drive-in theaters back to life
Amazon just started a program that’s a bit more reasonable than the other one linked called Prime Video Cinema: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Video/b?ie=UTF8&node=285877801...
ZekeSulastin··on The Warby Parker clones are imploding
The aberration I see when I wear glasses are most obvious when looking at something like colored LED lighting - I can actually cleanly separate the red and blue components of a purple light into two separate images, for instance. More blended colors will just get the usual fringe.

That, along with the other severe distortion brought on by a -10 diopter, is why I mainly wear contacts now.

ZekeSulastin··on Reddit has become a guide to personal finance
... what? I can get to it from the website and Apollo perfectly well.
ZekeSulastin··on If You Can't Buy the Keyboard You Want, Build It Instead
Aren’t the Ergodoxen already two separate units it is there a cable limitation? I was looking at buying one or a similar split keyboard for the reason you stated.
ZekeSulastin··on Most complex ASCII fluid – Honorable mention (2012)
The YouTube recommendation algorithm strikes again :)

(As of this comment, the video nkoren linked of this project has 650k views vs. ~1k to 4k for the rest of Yusuke Endoh's videos)
