ZeWaka··on All of human cooking compressed into 2 megabytes
oh god I swear it said something different when I posted, or maybe I had too many cups of coffee yesterday...

Sounds like The Flavor Bible - it's a great reference book to find pairings of ingredients.
ZeWaka··on Cloudflare Flagship
Statsig has worked great at my work, really polished and rich feature set. Their tooling to identify unused flags as candidates for removal is neat.

The per-seat billing we have in our agreement is a bit rough but it's workable.

ZeWaka··on Cloudflare Flagship
They're not always booleans - for example, we often see feature flags being used for A/B rollouts.

Cloudflare themselves even uses them internally as such, by shipping new features/builds to their free customers first, and then progressively larger customers after a settling period.

Feature flags can also be randomly turned on, for a sort of fuzz testing. Don't think of them just as 'new things' - it could be 'changed behavior'.

I guess you could think of them as a boolean on every client but they're generally not implemented that way.

ZeWaka··on Buildcraft Is a Compiler Problem
Darn, this title got me excited about Minecraft.
ZeWaka··on Kindle loyalists scramble as Amazon turns page on old e-readers
There are newer ones with physical buttons.

You'll get a new ad if you take it online again, but they only persist for about a month or so before falling back to the generic 'read books' amazon ad.

I have my 2016 one setup without a password so when I open my cover the device unlocks, so I never really even see the ad unless I try.

ZeWaka··on Spotify will start reserving concert tickets for fans
This already happens. Most artists I listen to have a mailing list presale, then a spotify / promoter / venue presale, and finally the open sale in that order.
ZeWaka··on Spotify will start reserving concert tickets for fans
I've missed concerts due to delayed/cancelled plane flights or other booked transportation.

Darn, guess I'm not a true fan or I would've booked a private jet.

ZeWaka··on Spotify will start reserving concert tickets for fans
Still have the issue of transferring tickets to friends or such if you can't make it. Axios and some providers handle this.
ZeWaka··on Flipper One – we need your help
That's a pretty crazy price for a pomodoro with a screen, lmao.
ZeWaka··on Apparently Google hates us now
Interesting. My small game wiki was also affected ~3 weeks ago. It doesn't even show up on Google anymore even if you directly search for the URL.

We don't get any spam since there's no public signups for editing access.

ZeWaka··on Gemini 3.5 Flash
Wow, Gemini 3.5 Flash surprised me there.

one of the most viral videos from 2012 is obscure?

ZeWaka··on OpenAI Adopts Google's SynthID Watermark for AI Images with Verification Tool
I imagine the technique of having AI recreate the image from scratch based on a very detailed description might work.

I don't know, there's plenty of models these days that generate good splats just from objects at home.

I took maybe 10 pictures of a model I built and threw it at my 3060 during dinner and it came out quite nice.

Addresses can also be trivially found via voter records.
ZeWaka··on Click (2016)
The image processing is neat. Local model ran in the browser?
ZeWaka··on Two computers, one monitor, zero fiddling – Alex Plescan
Yep, similar - I just use a wired USB hub that can toggle between two outputs.

I just have the monitors auto-switch on (lack of) input when I put one machine to sleep. The single click buttons on the monitor also switch.

ZeWaka··on We stopped AI bot spam in our GitHub repo using Git's –author flag
My community does something vaguely similar, where you get credit for having bugfix PRs merged, and it's deducted when you get feature PRs merged.

Don't worry, we were also giving out millions (or more!) of dogecoin as tips on Reddit. Can't really get hung up on crypto shit.
