You'd be happier on /r/cuckold, yet here you are.

I posted on a thread about malware, and made a comment about malware. That's "tech-related stuff". You have poor reading comprehension.

This is so CURRENTYEAR. We're reaching levels of slacktivism so fucking stupid I honestly don't know where we go from here. I thought changing "master" to "main" was fucking stupid, but this really takes the cake. I foresee a future where someone does this for all Texas IPs because they delusionally believe it's being ran by neo-Nazis, that Texas is a fascist state.

>I'm asking for your opinion

Students should be cordial and have spirited debate free of jeering and taunting. That used to be the standard.

>because you are trying to distract from unacceptable behaviour by saying "but the left..."

This is a non sequitur. I am not trying to distract anyone, I'm pointing out that if the standard is to exclude those who jeer, taunt, and attack the individual in the hopes of cowing them into submission, then this would lead to large portions of campus leftist being punished.

>Thank you for confirming

That wasn't a confirmation, you literally proved my point for me.

>unable to have discourse without blaming people uninvolved in the situation via whataboutism.

This is by definition not whataboutism because I am not attempting to discredit the OPs position.

QED.

Thank you for confirming that you are incapable of having discourse because you are incapable of understanding basic concepts like whataboutism and are T R I G G E R E D because someone called out leftists as those partaking in unacceptable behavior.

YATA0··on Chinese students at Cornell “taunt” Uyghur classmate
>Are you saying that it's right or unacceptable from anyone?

Are you asking for my personal opinion, the opinion of college administration, the opinion of student bodies, etc.?

>Because it sounds like you are trying to turn it into whataboutism.

It's not whataboutism because campus leftists have been doing exactly what the OP described:

"But jeering, booing and taunting, that’s a step too far. That no longer protesting a speaker as part of a free debate, but instead attacking them as an individual in the hopes of cowing them into submission."

That's the MO for campus "cancel culture".

You misspelled N.Y. L.A. barely has a train system in comparison. L.A.'s train system is hot garbage and goes practically nowhere. L.A. is one of the most car dependent cities in the US.

>But jeering, booing and taunting, that’s a step too far. That no longer protesting a speaker as part of a free debate, but instead attacking them as an individual in the hopes of cowing them into submission.

That would remove a significant portion of campus leftists.

>At this point I'm convinced you're not willing to argue in good faith.

Translation: "You're right and I know it, you used facts, logic, and reason and reality agrees with you, so I'm just going to say you're arguing in bad faith because I have no retort."

>Fair enough. According to the ACLU[1], ...

Except that statistic has absolutely nothing to do with the original claim. The original claim was "victims of domestic violence who engage in self-defense are often punished in the criminal justice system for those acts." The ACLU article says nothing about the percent of women that are in jail due defending themselves from sexual/domestic abuse. It's just the total percent of women in jail that have been abused.

>I am not going to answer your next comment

Thanks for admitting defeat. I win.

>because you just can't be argued with.

It's hard/impossible to argue against facts, logic, and reality.

You're here defending the future abuse of women because it's woke to do so. Maybe you should stop and ask yourself "are we the baddies?"

>you'd think that a "doctoral candidate at the University of Michigan studying gender and sexual violence with an emphasis on college sexual violence" has insightful opinion on the topic at hand.

Grievance study majors absolutely do not have insightful opinions on the topic at hand. Their opinion is hilariously predictable.

>The second one being that "victims of domestic violence who engage in self-defense are often punished in the criminal justice system for those acts", and therefore are present on those lists while not belonging there.

Press F to doubt. Unless there's a well regarded study that gives some actual numbers, this number can be considered zero or statistically insignificant noise.

YATA0··on Tinder now offers criminal background checks, but there’s a big problem
Imagine thinking those quoted people are "experts in the field" instead of woke virtue signalers.

It's not an opinion, it's an objective fact. They're using grade school level rhetoric: "Well, the background checking system doesn't have all the predators in there, so these background checks are effectively useless!"

They're using the exact same rhetoric that pro-gun advocates use to push for the removal of background checks for purchasing firearms.

YATA0··on Who's Attacking My Server?
Port knocking, Wireguard, never look back.

You can set an alert for every failed SSH connection because if someone is able to get through that, it's alarming.

This setup has the side effect of reducing your log noise to zero. That SNR is super important for intrusion detection.

YATA0··on Tinder now offers criminal background checks, but there’s a big problem
"Background checks are racist!"

As yes, those sexual predators that sexually abused and battered their exes are just victims of White supremacy!

Imagine being against protecting women from violent offenders because it's woke to do so.

YATA0··on The 1980s Media Panic over Dungeons and Dragons (2016)
You replied to the wrong thread.
YATA0··on The 1980s Media Panic over Dungeons and Dragons (2016)
Not a stretch at all. The origin story of these panics have major parallels:

A DnD game gone wrong, which lead to a man killing himself since he lost touch with reality.

A Black teenager gunned down in the street by a racist White cop after running away and holding his hands up.

Both of these stories are absolute fiction. The former had a history of suicidal thoughts and substance abuse. The latter assaulted a police officer and tried to wrestle his gun away just minutes after he committed strong armed robbery of a corner store.

YATA0··on The 1980s Media Panic over Dungeons and Dragons (2016)
There are tons of parallels between the media and moral panic over DnD/Satanism and the media and moral panic over Whiteness/BLM/White supremacy.

I truly believe we'll look back at the age of wokeism the same way we look back at other moral panics.

ISIS, gays being thrown off buildings... Press F to doubt.

Grenada was barely bombed at all.

>Or if your assessment was correct, then in spite of such a large budget, the US has managed to get beaten by a handful of Stone Age countries.

Name any large engagements or battles where the US "got beaten" in Iraq, Syria, Grenada, Afghanistan, etc. Even the biggest "loss" in Vietnam (Tet Offensive) was a huge tactical failure for the North Vietnamese. Nonetheless, it ended up being a strategic failure for the US because it turned the public tide against the war.

YATA0··on US military is a bigger polluter than as many as 140 countries (2019)

Many of those countries were already in the stone age.

Citation needed. The US military is mostly stationed in the US. Iraq and Afghanistan wars are over.

>The Wikipedia article doesn't actually provide a citation for that conclusion, and if you follow the link through to the article about "The Special Counsel's report", i.e. the Mueller Report, you'll find that:

Yes it does, it links to the Mueller Report Wikipedia page that directly states:

"Volume I of the report concludes that the investigation "did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.""

With several linked sources.

>Bear in mind that Mueller was a Republican special counsel, whose remit was set by Trump's DOJ, and that:

And? There were multiple Democrats in the special counsel that also did not find any collision.

"On May 1, Barr testified that he "didn't exonerate" Trump on obstruction ... Mueller testified to Congress that a president could be charged with crimes including obstruction of justice after the president left office."

Obstruction is not collusion. I can hear the goalposts screeching from here.

>so he was prevented by policy (not the law or the facts) from bringing charges against Trump.

And no one, not any of the state or federal ADAs/AGs/etc. brought any charges up for collision... because there was no evidence of it as reported by Mueller. QED.

>In any case, the Senate investigation (which is what I originally quoted) came later, and was more forthcoming about the connection between Trump's team and Russia.

And also found nothing.

I'll say it again: There is no evidence that Trump and Co. colluded with the Russians.

What you believe is an Alex Jones level conspiracy theory that just so happens to be politically expedient to believe.

YATA0··on YouTube suspends The Hill for playing clip of Trump denying election results
>We're talking about more than "Russian troll farms" here

Not really, no.

From your own source:

"The Special Counsel's report, made public in April 2019, examined numerous contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian officials but concluded that there was insufficient evidence to bring any conspiracy or coordination charges against Trump or his associates."

It literally states there was no evidence of collision or conspiracy.

YATA0··on YouTube suspends The Hill for playing clip of Trump denying election results
A couple of Facebook groups, memes, and Twitter posts by Russian trolls != collusion.

The left was screaming about Trump directly colluding with the Russians. When the facts came out and it was clear he didn't collude, the goal posts shifted to "well the Russian troll farms helped Trump win!"

That's not collusion.
