Why would they do a UBI 7 with Python 3.6 but not UBI 8?
Comparing it to my MacBook Pro... it's terrible.
It has some flaws, and it may be underpowered for things like YouTube, it works flawlessly as a small note taker that has an extremely long battery life and a decent screen/keyboard. It's also really nice for having a Linux machine around that most dongles/serial consoles just work with when you head into the datacenter to deal with a Cisco device that isn't playing nice.
For the price point, you get a lot. As an owner of a Pinebook, I am looking forward to the Pinebook Pro.
Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (or EPEL) is a Fedora Special Interest Group that creates, maintains, and manages a high quality set of additional packages for Enterprise Linux, including, but not limited to, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS and Scientific Linux (SL), Oracle Linux (OL).
EPEL packages are usually based on their Fedora counterparts and will never conflict with or replace packages in the base Enterprise Linux distributions. EPEL uses much of the same infrastructure as Fedora, including buildsystem, bugzilla instance, updates manager, mirror manager and more.
For example eBPF was back ported (and also in CentOS), but running a syscall heavy work-load in a docker container on the older kernel about 50% of the CPU time was spent in the kernel filter.
I ended up moving our entire CI/CD platform to Ubuntu 18.04 and the performance issues went away and my workloads now run at full speed without slowdowns.
RHEL 8 comes with the 4.18 series of the Linux kernel that is already EOL. That's a shame and once again it will fall behind quickly :/

With the angle it sits at, when notifications come in FaceID will correctly ID me and unlock the device so I can at a glance see what the notification is.
As for syncing? All of that is done to the cloud, so that's not really something I care much about.

This is a step back.
So even forwarding is broken, as is search for those of us that search our emails a lot.
It's not searchable, it can't be archived for legal purposes this way, this is a nightmare for anyone that does business with you.
No need for a extra device of any sort.
You need a web browser.
Many hosters I've dealt with have required this to prevent abuse from someone reading the rDNS and assuming the IP address is related to someone it is not.
