Tested both Linux (some things will need manual patching) and windows. Works like a charm.
A reboot will stop the charging process.
Fasting is healthy but I'd rather it not be done because you can't afford to eat.
You are forgetting the tax income from the money all those "tourists" spend in that country. Who do you think benefits from those taxes?
I do agree with you that it can befome a problem if those "tourists" start buying properties in those places. That should not be alowed without permanent residence (of, at least, a few years).
"That in turn drives up prices of everything for locals "===> Are you serious? Do you realise how many of these "tourists" (% wise) are needed to affect the market in a city? Even 1% is nothing more than a blip(IMHO).
I'm using a few XCP-NG vm's for anything dev related(including test environment). I keep a few main images depending on what I'm working on and just add/remove resources if/when needed. A lot more effective (for me) than being tied to a specific machine.
I carry with me a cheap 13" laptop and my phone, both with VPN's set up to dial in into my home network. I can use either. When I'm travelling somewhere I don't even take the laptop. I only have a foldable keyboard, mouse, small pocket projector.
For remote connectivity without my VPN I use Splashtop business (very very rare). It happened to me a few times that the VPN was not working over 4G (still don't have a cliue why)
A 5cm screwdriver is more than enough to give brain damage to someone.
A flexible extension hose like the ones that go under the sink (with the nuts attached) is perfect for knocking someone out.
A titanium tipped pen is quite good if you aim for ears, temple or throat.
A tightly rolled newspaper makes a very good blunt weapon.
Breaking/banning encryption like would have minimal benefits while exposing the whole society. Don't think that only the gov't will have the secondary keys if they decide to "only" have back doors. Anyone motivated enough will have them.
If chat encryption is banned... let's say it's not hard to reintroduce it on top of existing layers for anyone motivated enough or with enough money.
"but they're not innocents." ===> I'm wondering if those crazy bombers think the same as you do when killing/bombing "Civilians" instead or armed forces.
You logic was prevalent in feudal times. If someone attacked you, you'd wipe they whole city/area and their entire family tree just to make sure theree's nobody left to take revenge.
This is not a new thing. It's been going on for at least 4-5 years if not more.
Blackmail is also a thing. "take down video x or I'll strike your account" and such.
Yeah. In the same boat and my wife like to play pranks when she uses the car. Turns the volume to max right before removing the key. When her phone is not found it defaults to radio. That "saved me" from having to drink my morning coffee in the office on more than one occasion + it's good training for the heart.
Edit: Forgot to mention that the volume knob is ignored until the system fully boots up and the audio starts as soon as you twist the key.
The way I see it, (90%?)most of it is propaganda, rage baiting and interest pushing. That is not something I want to spend money on.
>"the only objective measure of value is what people will pay for it" - I think the ratio between demand/supply would be a more accurate one. I really don't know what systems have been proposed like this but "what people will pay for it" wouldn't be an option.
The whole chain - raw product to shelf would be (?mostly) quantified and you'll pay what is is out of your "produced/contributed hours".
In that regarding not much would change compared to today. Just the currency and formula used.
Production can be ramped up or down just like today, manufacturing lines closed, etc. Nothing special there.
The main difference is the currency used would be the same all over the place and that (ideally) labour h value for a particular skill would be rated the same everywhere in the world. A laboured in UK would have the same h coef. as one in China. This could also contribute to distribution of production centres more evenly around the world (ideally).
Don't get me wrong. It's just a discussion of sorts and no system is perfect. I just think something like this would help equalize things in some way and still motivate those that want to do more to do so. At the moment, all 'isms have their issues and I'm "hoping" a hybrid of sorts would be worth trying at this stage. I'm not pro any of them and agaist all of them... sort of.
I'd think, the reason that a surgeon is paid more than a garbage disposal person is the ammount of time, brain power and skill it takes to learn/master.
In the grand scheme of things, number wise, if the garbage disposal guys are gone (or just refuse to work for 1 year), a lot more people will be sick and die. In todays world, we can't do without them. Why would a surgeon be paid more if he only saves 10000 lives during his lifetime when cleaners keep millions safe from disease, rat infestations, etc? How about those guys that work at water purification plants that keep cities running and that surgeon clean?
I'm not bashing surgeons here. I'm one of the guys that made it through a poped apedix thanks to a surgeon that realized what was going on and did the surgery within 1h of me collapsing.
I'm questioning the concept of rewarding labour based on "value to society". IMHO, that works only for basic needs and services. Food, shelter, security, etc. Anything above that... not so much or at best, debatable.
Even the same thing can be valued differently, depending on the location, circumstances, etc.
Tbh I'm not an economics specialist to account for all variables but I can't see how it would be any different from fiat in terms of complexity.
It wouldn't be impossible to quantify it for all but edge cases.
I have mixed feelings about banks, national banks, lenders, art trading, casinos, pawn shops and such though. I'm a bit worried about tracking private individuals at that extent because of these.
- macros and scripts- it's nice not having to enable, disable etc stuff and just scan qr codes, nfc tags or use ble tags as markers to enable something
- chroot
- faking permisions and data for apps is a must
- sim links to app data folders for easy backup/restore
Edit: Would it be illegal photograph the board, OCR it and provide a summary for half the price of others? There is such a thing and "wrong/stupid laws"
It would make perfect sense to just sell and go for plan B (buy through multiple people/off-shores or something).
Other interviews back then and more recent were pretty much the same. Max. 3 x 1h-ish meetings. I do have a bad habit of asking the interviewer to sell me the job on the first face 2 face meeting though. This does offend some of them and we drop it there. No point beating around the bush and wasting time if they think the interview is a one way street.
Romania does have a lot of issues with motorway developments because of speciments like this. After the first major one that blocked the Bucharest-Constanta motorway for years, the gov't passed a law that allows them to just take the property and pay market prices. As it should be.
