UmGuys··on Berkshire Hathaway Now Pays 5% of All Corporate Income Taxes in America
The corporation and shareholders aren't the same entity. How is N entities paying N taxes double tax?
UmGuys··on Berkshire Hathaway Now Pays 5% of All Corporate Income Taxes in America
I'm no expert, but corporations act as their own legal entities with protected speech. We would have to remove other legal entitlements that benefit them more. They can't have cake and eat it too as they say. I would also like to pay zero tax.
UmGuys··on U.S. bombs Iranian nuclear sites
Sure. Make a technical analysis of a casual comment. Of course he has support from others. At the very least defense contractors who profit from this. My comment was from his perspective. He only cares to get richer.

There's always been an authorization for military force even if it's a blanket one and they claim they're fighting ISIS, at least there has been deniability. Here there's no authorization, it's unconstitutional. I don't care about partisan politics. Most politicians are scummy.

UmGuys··on U.S. bombs Iranian nuclear sites
Yes. Trump shredded the deal we had in place an decided on his own to strike without congress. No one else would have done this.
UmGuys··on U.S. bombs Iranian nuclear sites
??? WTF are you on. If Iran bombs US research facilities it's okay? I don't understand at all.
UmGuys··on U.S. bombs Iranian nuclear sites
Trump only wants to get richer. He'll do as many wars as he can get away with. Laws don't matter anymore. He just struck Iran because he felt like it and announced it on his social media network. This is beyond Idoicracy.
UmGuys··on U.S. bombs Iranian nuclear sites
What is this commentary? We literally just attacked them. We punched them in the face. We're doing the war. Not them.
UmGuys··on New US visa rules will force foreign students to unlock social media profiles
Democracy was subverted with Citizen's United. Campaign finance regulation existed for a reason. We no longer have a sovereignty after it as foreign nations can purchase influence through PACs. In order to begin regaining democratic rule, we must regulate campaign finance again.
UmGuys··on Brad Lander detained by masked federal agents inside immigration court
They're deporting them without trial. They don't even try to confirm they capture the right people. They've arrested several US citizens. Notice where this arrest occurred: at a courthouse. Why? Because this person was complying with the law and going through the immigration process.

What about masked men kidnapping random people, then sending them somewhere like a prison in El Salvador seems just to you? Do you remember this happening previously in your life?

UmGuys··on Google Pixels are no longer the AOSP reference device
I don't understand the contention as I don't participate in the disinformation. ICE kidnaps people without showing documentation on who they are or why they're being kidnapped. They quickly move the people they capture to another facility in the US hundreds of miles away. Then, they send them to El Salvador, a hostile place, or a country they've never been to. This process occurs without seeing a judge to even double check the abducted person is who ICE claims they are. Let alone any actual due process. What's the contention?

Also, despite the insane cruelty that seems to be the process, both Obama and Biden deported more people than Trump.

UmGuys··on Why the Poor Vote for the Right (and Stop Demanding More Equality)
Which is why sane people should vote democrat, even if they're objectively bad. GOP is infinitely worse.
UmGuys··on Why the Poor Vote for the Right (and Stop Demanding More Equality)
That's what I mean. They do it everywhere. It's the strategy I think Mitch McConnel came up with. Obstruct, break everything, ensure government doesn't work for people, then claim government is bad, corrupt, etc. And move in to privatize and sell everything to the highest bidder.
UmGuys··on Why the Poor Vote for the Right (and Stop Demanding More Equality)
Working people are effectively slaves. Everyone has children or college debt. Health care is useless in not urban areas and even then it's restricted by insurance or lack of it. There's not much hope to own a home other than through inheritance. Even inheritance is unlikely as health care for aging parents is very expensive.

People are uneducated, don't have time, and rightly feel like politicians don't represent them. No one wants to have no home or the worst health care system except the people taking bribes. There's no incentive for reform.

UmGuys··on Why the Poor Vote for the Right (and Stop Demanding More Equality)
Point by point you seem off.

GOP makes poor people. They oppose organized labor and support what Lincoln would refer to as "wage slavery".

No one in government cares about sex and gender than GOP. I've never heard anyone else mention regulating the bedroom, porn, sex, etc. Ever.

Maybe you're somewhat accurate about abolishing police. I wouldn't phrase it that way, but reform is needed and abolition is likely better than our police state.

Opposing Israel's war isn't supporting an Islamic supremacist group. Practically no one in US government opposes funding Israel.

Biden and Obama both deported more people than Trump. They used the existing law s to do it. Trump is spending more, ignoring law, and deporting less.

GOP really wants government to not function so they can steal everything good that's been created.

UmGuys··on Waymo partners with Toyota to bring autonomous driving to personal vehicles
I would believe Elon about the robotaxi stuff if they partnered with Waymo. This is a smart partnership.

We're flagging xkcd now? I can't think of more iconic programmer humor. Who doesn't like xkcd?
UmGuys··on ICE Deports 3 U.S. Citizen Children Held Incommunicado Prior to the Deportation
It has not. We have never previously sent immigrants to foreign concentration camps. There were internment camps which were bad enough during the war, but we're now kidnapping people, sending them to El Salvador, and locking them up for life.
UmGuys··on ICE Deports 3 U.S. Citizen Children Held Incommunicado Prior to the Deportation
Are you serious? Trump campaigned on spreading cruelty to these people and he's doing it. There's financial incentive to keep people in private prisons, and we're paying to send them to concentration camps, so it's not money. It's just bigotry.
UmGuys··on Deafening Silence from the Cybersecurity Industry
He inherited money, ran through it, went back and fleeced his dad and siblings of their money. Ran through that. Racked up hundreds of millions of debt, then ran for president. Now he bastardizes public office and exploits his position to generate wealth.
UmGuys··on Zero-Based Regulatory Budgeting to Unleash American Energy
Why are conservatives hell bent on destroying the nice things we had? Sometimes nice things are better than money. Money can't always replace nice things. These laws cost infinite man hours to implement over a century and their burnt by savages on a Friday night.
