TootsMagoon··on I want the world to scroll this way
Nope.
TootsMagoon··on Python for Kids: A Playful Introduction to Programming
I am working through 'the Hello World book'with my kids and plan to teach an after school course on Python next year. I am very pleased with 'Hello World' but am curious on your thoughts on which one you prefer. 'Hello World' or 'Python for Kids'?
TootsMagoon··on Apple loses $34.9 billion in market cap
Taxes on the wealthy and their capital gains are going up! Between now and the end of the year I believe you will see a LOT of selling from people and institutions holding large positions. Regardless of whether or not we go over the 'Cliff', capital gains tax rates will be going up and lots of selling will occur that drives down stock prices.
TootsMagoon··on Google acquires BufferBox (YC S12)
Congrats for sure. Now let's speculate on what Google will do with them? Are they going to get into online retail and compete with Amazon? Will Google be able collect data on what is stored in the compartments? Any other ideas?
TootsMagoon··on Objective-C in The Cloud
Agreed! Too many startups these days do a poor job describing the job they are doing and conveying the value created.
TootsMagoon··on Neal Stephenson wants to revolutionize sword fighting video games
Interesting idea. However, would that create an unnatural, 'valley of the uncanny', type feel? Approaching realism but falling short and ultimately distracting?
TootsMagoon··on How we run our agile dev process using only Trello and Google Docs
I'm curious about their thoughts on Pivotal as well.

In addition, how do you track velocity?

TootsMagoon··on Google (as a company) is more popular than Facebook, Twitter, and even Apple
This is a measure of popularity based on the metric of feeling (favorable vs unfavorable). Using this metric one could place anything up there to compete, including Pizza! As a result, I am sure Pizza would have even higher "favorable" ratings than all of them!

What this chart does not show is the relationship to demand. Which would also be a basis of popularity. Then you would need to measure the basis of feelings against specific segments (android vs iPhone).

Bottom line....I think this report is a very unscientific measurement of "Popularity".
