ThatMedicIsASpy··on Linux on Snapdragon X Elite: Linaro and Tuxedo Pave the Way for ARM64 Laptops
10+ years of T440s here. Most of the time a Fedora base. Both batteries at 50% health but the only thing that really is noticeable over the years is the missing hardware for todays video codecs.

I just check reuters and apnews first these days to see what's going on before checking localized stuff.

A reason why my first vote ever (20 years ago) went to the pirate party. We needed people with digital understanding 30 years ago.

ThatMedicIsASpy··on The bewildering phenomenon of declining quality
The buy for life alternative is only ever an option if you are a home owner. I would not want to move with the massive furniture of my parents.
ThatMedicIsASpy··on Trying to send a sticker in Steam Chat burned through a month of mobile data
Paying for what I need is compared to dumpster diving?
ThatMedicIsASpy··on I avoid using LLMs as a publisher and writer

Because some people do not waste money?. I pay 1€ for 1GB of data. Most of the time I use 0MB. Germany.

If it did not take 1 day to activate I would cancel every month and only pay when I actually have a need.

They were browsing the point shop. On Desktop (FF ctrlF5) this page loads 20-30MB of data. A mix of gif webm and animated pngs

ThatMedicIsASpy··on KDE's official Roku/Android TV alternative is back from the dead
To me it would be relevant to my use case since a TV box is not something I tinker with or want to have to worry about updates.
ThatMedicIsASpy··on Plasma Bigscreen rises from the dead with a better UI
I would not want to deal with anything and have a stable system so Fedora Atomics or a custom ublue image.

What a load of BS. How can I test my website on safari without owning Apple hardware? I can't so I don't.
ThatMedicIsASpy··on Apple vs the Law
The whole tech house of cards would fall apart if tracking a user is made illegal - or serving ads based on any sort of tracking.
ThatMedicIsASpy··on AI cameras change driver behavior at intersections
The cost of getting a drivers license has increased a lot in Germany. 2500-3500€ isn't uncommon today.
ThatMedicIsASpy··on Mini NASes marry NVMe to Intel's efficient chip
Low power, low noise, low profile system, LOW ENTRY COST. I can easily get a beelink me mini or two and build a NAS + offsite storage. Two 1TB SSDs for a mirror are around 100€, two new 1TB HDDs are around 80€.

You are thinking in dimensions normal people have no need for. Just the numbers alone speaks volumes, 12TB, 6 hdds, 8TB NVMes, 2.5GB LAN.

ThatMedicIsASpy··on Websites hosting major US climate reports taken down
I have been pirating on and off for almost 25 years. This wasn't a problem in my early years so I learned and know all the sides of it. I would have definitely got those in my early days. But the whole thing started way later and they should still be around.
ThatMedicIsASpy··on Websites hosting major US climate reports taken down
Doubt with the whole tech stack. Germany is using a lot more Palantir in the police. I'd love to see change.
ThatMedicIsASpy··on Sony's Mark Cerny Has Worked on "Big Chunks of RDNA 5" with AMD
I have played through CP2077 with 40, 30 and 25 fps. A child doesn't care if Zelda runs with low FPS.

The only thing I value is a consistent stream of frames on a console.

ThatMedicIsASpy··on YouTube No Translation
It is a setting managed by the content creators. That is why it is very random
ThatMedicIsASpy··on An Indoor Beehive in My Bedroom Wall
As I've helped my beekeeping grandpa over the years I disagree. I've been stung twice (around thousands of bees) and both times they flew into my hair and could not get out.

I still do not like honey - unless I use it for cooking.

ThatMedicIsASpy··on AOSP project is coming to an end
I use my monitors, TVs, PC hardware for 10 years+. Things dying after 3 years is a big fucking deal. WTF is wrong with you.
ThatMedicIsASpy··on Denuvo Analysis
I played both Oris for 1€ on gamepass only to buy it when it's in a steam sale (~11€ for both iirc). I have free games from epic only to buy them on Steam for 5€. I have no problem pirating games. The last big title was Cyberpunk. It runs like shit on my end but once I buy a GPU I'll buy Cyberpunk. Until then I can wait.

I pirated GTA5 to test it on my machine back in the days. Textures popped in seconds later because the HDD was way too slow to handle the game. I prefer pirating a game over dealing with refunds. I have it for free from Epic. Would I buy it now? No. I don't like the game at all after playing for 4 hours.

What is my favorite single player game? Cyberpunk. Do I share that information? Yes.

ThatMedicIsASpy··on Apple introduces a universal design across platforms
I wonder if there will be a big difference between a 60Hz and 120Hz Display. Blur is distracting if the content is dynamic.
ThatMedicIsASpy··on Being fat is a trap
A warm drink is something I hate. No tea/coffee for me. Ice tea is something I would still thin with 90% water + 10% ice tea
ThatMedicIsASpy··on Being fat is a trap
Cannabis made me lose 20kg in a short span (~2 months). But the main reason was extreme loss of appetite. I cooked normal and after 40% of a plate I was full.

You do this for a few days and then you start changing your cooking habbits. This was a year ago and I've held the weight since and simply started eating less. My old eating habbits did not make me gain weight though as my old weight was constant for 10 years.

My main liquid is 98% water. I cant stand soda unless its mixed with 90% water.

The early adopters. Even for consoles you can wait and get them second hand years later. There is no reason to chase the latest releases other than having a fetish for experiencing all the bugs/crashes/join queue/server overload on release days. PC gaming can be expensive (hardware/games) and cheap (hardware/games). Used Steam Decks and Rog Ally starts at around 300€ - a controller, screen and enough power to play with options for more (game pass/xbox & geforce now streaming). It always depends on what kind of gamer you are, what you want to play and how much you are willing to invest into the hobby.
