StriverGuy··on Technologies in HN “Who is Hiring?” threads
I am immediately skeptical of this analysis. No .NET Framework at all? I know that isn't true since I have browsed Who's Hiring plenty.
StriverGuy··on Show HN: Trigger – IFTTT for the stock market
This is essentially Algo trading for individuals. I doubt you can patent this.
StriverGuy··on Rackspace Interview Process
Your comment reeks of hubris.
StriverGuy··on CV of Failures [pdf]
Not to brag, but I have definitely failed wayyyyyy more than that.
StriverGuy··on Broken: What the Hell Happened in East New York?
I came to the comments to see if I was the only one feeling this way. The writing feels like the ramblings of someone who is either drunk or loves the run on sentence.
StriverGuy··on Climate Model Predicts West Antarctic Ice Sheet Could Melt Rapidly
What can the individual change about their lifestyle to help prevent this?
StriverGuy··on Stripe Atlas
This is great. While I am not in need of incorporating any business, I do have to say that the UI design on Stripe's site is beautiful.
StriverGuy··on [dead]
The only thing that bothered me about this article is the obnoxious comment by Kris Gellci at the end.

8.15 /hour is an atrociously low wage for what is clearly a position that requires a bit of skill.

StriverGuy··on Does exercise slow the aging process?
This is very misguided advice.

Long bouts of endurance exercise can be very taxing and destructive to many body parts.

Exercise as a whole can be done efficiently and effectively without wearing your body out.

Anaerobic exercise (lifting weights) can improve collagen and muscle production via several hormonal pathways. These same pathways tend to have negative feedbacks from excess aerobic exercise (i.e. high cortisol, low GH output in distance athletes).

StriverGuy··on Uber for banking? Coins.ph turns people into ATMs
This feels like a terrible idea.
StriverGuy··on Announcing .NET Core and ASP.NET 5 RC
This is really exciting!
StriverGuy··on Jet.com raises $500M from Fidelity at $1B pre
Wal-Mart should buy Jet.Com.

Wal-Mart has over 4500 forward shipping centers throughout the country and can leverage them to beat Amazon prices. Walmart would be able to leverage the Jet.com tech brand cache and technology stack, a place where Walmart as a brand has utterly failed to capitalize.

StriverGuy··on The Tech Bust of 2015
You would still never use trailing Revenue. You would want to use y/y revenue growth rate if you are going to use it as indicator for value.
StriverGuy··on The Tech Bust of 2015
Very few people would agree regarding Yelp. Almost no financial analyst worth a lick would use trailing revenue (instead of net earnings) as a way towards finding value in a company.

Maybe I am missing why Sam points Yelp out at all here...

StriverGuy··on Uber Is Taking Millions of Manhattan Rides Away from Taxis
You obviously arent aware of how the Uber app works. If a driver receives only 1 or 2 severely low ratings, they are contacted by their managing office. After warnings they will eventually be fired.

Uber adds a level of accountability that NYC cabs do not have.

StriverGuy··on Winklevoss Twins’ Bitcoin Exchange
I was just going to comment how nice the design is on this page. The parallax is very fluid and I love the 3-D line/polygon thing going on...
