Sohakes··on Not Your Problem
Game jams were the only way I made the two games that I have made. Without it, I guess me and my friend would be lost in stupid details instead of releasing a game.
Sohakes··on Not Your Problem
Sometimes I think about doing a wario ware style game. Can you post the link for your game?
Sohakes··on Regular meditation may be more beneficial than vacation
You don't always have the power to change things. Change the things when you can, yeah, but if you are stuck in traffic, in a boring meeting, in a job you can't quit now, then maybe meditation is a good idea. You can at least not hate your life while you find alternatives.

I mean, I find specially hard to improve myself at my job if I hate it, and so it will be harder for me to find somewhere else better. If I'm mindful, I will actually keep working hard, learning, and I will separate myself from the bad feelings. That doesn't mean I will stop searching for alternatives.

Sohakes··on Music for Programming
Funny, didn't expect someone else to listen that.
Sohakes··on Truth in stereotypes
But the "right" answer is A, indeed.
Sohakes··on Special projects
If we end up being automated fully, I think that least important thing anyone can think of is that we will be paid less. I think that something like this is unavoidable but quite dangerous, singularity, etc.

The upside is that I think it would be really accessible for anyone to have it's own personal army of programmers. Although that's also quite dangerous.

> The only trick that really stuck to me is to write down on a piece of paper where I'm at during a context switch.

Oh, maybe I do that too? I'm not sure if I blame this on my memory, but sometimes to do X I need to do Y and then Z (specially when starting a project), and then I forget why I was doing Z in the first place. I'm using Trello for doing things at work, and after a "Doing" column, I put a "Doing now" that usually has only one task to simulate the writing in a piece of paper. Sometimes it turns out into a "stack" of tasks with the switchs. It's usually really short term tasks. Not sure if you are talking about something like that.

Before that I used to write in my notebook what my task was, so I don't lose focus.

I feel it's like that too. We live to work and forget anything outside it. Maybe a bit off topic, but I like this piece from a cartoon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy9TsGOswVA.
Sohakes··on Ask HN: How happy are you working as a programmer?
Quite the same problem here, I also think I'm under-performing. Doesn't help that I'm on HN instead of working
