It is called "Hackpad". You might need to hack it to see it.
Sharma··on The Hacker Shelf: Collection of free books for the intellectually curious
Interesting, in the past 3 years, this same link/post has appeared multiple times on the front page.

Sharma··on Ask HN: How to talk smart?
Knowledge speaks.

There is no trick to become smart talker. Just attain knowledge in the domain you work or want to become "smart talker".

Once you know enough things about the topic you are discussing you thoughts will be clear and concise.

So your question should be: "How do I become an expert in xyz field so that everyone get a good impression when I talk?".

Sharma··on Microsoft Launches Visual Studio Code, a Free Cross-Platform Code Editor
Oh yeah. They even have preview badge on the home page. I was just thinking they could have stated it little bit politely. Something sort of, if you are not comfortable sharing the logs then wait for 1.0. blah..

But who cares :-). Many are downloading and I have it too!

Sharma··on Microsoft Launches Visual Studio Code, a Free Cross-Platform Code Editor
At the bottom of the download page, "If you don't want to send your crash dumps to Microsoft, don't install this tool."

That is rude!

Sharma··on Learn AngularJS
Every time a new framework appears, it feels like this is it. But as time passes you start seeing people's feedback and experiences. I see same pattern for AngularJS, Backbone.js and the recent one React.

So, the point is, don't believe the hype, try yourself and then decide if it is for you or not.

Sharma··on The manhunt for Yasin Bhatkal
Yeah, really weird. We know about Govt. officials taking bribes but very less about spending their own for missions which are totally just for country!
Sharma··on Show HN: Stressed and burned out, so I created my first app – Remember Win

Sharma··on Show HN: Solo - An app for sharing solitude and loneliness
You HN [submission history](https://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=wtsui) shows lots of posts about loneliness -:). However, this is a great idea, something which I can use a lot!
Sharma··on Mylar: A platform for building secure web applications
So someone builds a nice secure and useful framework/platform which is great. But why not put some effort to mention some more details or documentation about how to use it, sample, tutorials etc?
Sharma··on Ask HN: I'm bored with programming, what should I do?
Start learning something new but without loosing touch of programming...so here are your options(without knowing what you already do):

1.) Data science : Learn about data mining, machine learning, computer visions, natural language processing etc etc.

2.) If not above then start diving into computer security. Learn about penetration testing, cryptography, forensic etc.

3.) Become a designer learn: UX,CSS,graphic designing etc.

You can keep your current job going fine and get the daily dose of excitement from any of the above item! This is what I have been doing.

Sharma··on CMU's Introduction to Machine Learning Course
I think now it is the time we get some tutorial/resources/classes on practical implementation of these ML techniques. Enough of Introduction to ML. How to handle large data (say 6000000 rows), how to convert csv/tbv data to different formats needed for different machine learning libraries for e.g. Weka, LibSVM etc.
Sharma··on Python API for Hacker News
I think screen scrapping is not allowed by HN. Few tries with these APIs might get your IP banned!
Sharma··on JavaScript right on the hardware
Someone said once "If it CAN be developed in Javascript, eventually it WILL be developed in javascript"
Sharma··on Google Chromecast
Chromecast will be available for $35 starting Wednesday from Amazon, Google Play and Best Buy. Best Buy will also carry the device in stores later this month.
Sharma··on The Open Source Report Card: Dynamic progress reports for Github developers

Sharma··on Ask HN: How do you name your servers?
Gandalf,Isaac,Einstein
Sharma··on India’s elites have a ferocious sense of entitlement
Inter related things.Ferociousness here is due to frustration of too many people around.

Too many people means: Too much inequality, inability of governing people properly, lack of regulations and so on.....

India is 3 times more populated than USA but 1/3 in land size of USA!

Population does matter. Nothing about riches only in India. Put these conditions in any other country and you will see same behavior.

Sharma··on Google Nose (Beta)
April fool?
Sharma··on My new medical research startup launches today: let me know what you think
Well I am not saying no options available. This service says they use research, data analysis etc. I am sure 20 copay will not get you that.

So my point was to pay more that 20 but less than given minimum 5000.

Sharma··on My new medical research startup launches today: let me know what you think
Idea is great.

But I feel pricing model needs a revisit.

For patients with some serious ailments this is all fine but what about less serious issues like..a person with allergies, thyroid, migraine etc. These are kinds of things which bother people but still not enough to spend 5000 for analysis.

Probably a profile based pricing is a good idea? Just a thought.
