Saaster··on WeWork Is Going After Kindergartners Now
Kindergarten in NYC is approaching ivy-league college tuition prices with not much improvement in service or quality, and could use some serious competition.

The WeWork model applied to Kindergarten would actually be interesting. A drop-in kindergarten, while you work nearby. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be it.

Saaster··on What Hacker News readers want in a job
Just anecdotally, but every team I've been on where we ate lunch together was amazing, and every team where we didn't was joyless. Eating together of course doesn't cause amazing teams (but it can help), but seems to happen naturally when the team gels. I also like to invite random people from outside our team to come eat with the group, just grabbing someone in the hallway as we head out ("hey we're going to X, want to join?"), it's great for building connections in the org.
Saaster··on Self-driving car accidents: Robot drivers are ‘odd, and that’s why they get hit’
As the number of autonomous vehicles increase, people's behavior will change in time. It is shortsighted to relax the rules for the benefit of current human drivers. Once there is a critical mass of autonomous vehicles, then you can then start modifying the rules to make traffic more efficient with the guarantee that the rules will be followed.

If and when rear ending an autonomous vehicle becomes a common problem, awareness will rise and it will become less of a problem. Besides, rear-ending something with a dozen cameras and indisputable telemetry is just a bad idea, financially speaking.

Saaster··on Self-driving car accidents: Robot drivers are ‘odd, and that’s why they get hit’
Absolutely you can always blame the car that does the rear-ending, it is your responsibility to maintain distance and speed such that you can stop if the car in front of you slams on the brakes. Which can happen for a multitude of valid reasons, like something dropping of a truck in front, or an accident.

You will absolutely be at fault and stuck with the bill in every single rear-ending case, good luck arguing otherwise.

Saaster··on Ask HN: UK Startups – Are You Thinking of Leaving the UK Because of Brexit?
Not the in the UK, but in New York. I was planning to move my company and myself back to the EU where I'm from, and London specifically. An English speaking country is a must for my partner, having previously lived in Germany we found it highly stressful due to not being able to interactive with the government/landlord/accountants/lawyers etc. in English.

Brexit means I won't.
