Relys··on Writing to the Framebuffer
On the Nintendo Wii U we were able to do this. Check out "GX2 unchecked memory read/write": http://wiiubrew.org/wiki/Wii_U_System_Flaws. Same issue with "gspwn" on the Nintendo 3DS: https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/3DS_System_Flaws

“I would not be sleeping very well if I was involved in this,” said Jill Carlson, a blockchain consultant.
Relys··on Yuzu – Nintendo Switch Emulator
haha, yeah I thought that at first too. Separate individuals. Both exceptional.
Relys··on The problem of game developers receiving abusive messages
Thanks for providing some context. I don't know what they expected getting involved in YouTube drama (which is essentially like pissing in a sea of piss).
Relys··on How a researcher hacked his own computer and found 'worst' chip flaw

Was there. Can confirm it was Kane and Lynch.
Relys··on Bancor has lost more than half its value since June ICO
Now I get it! If you bend over backwards you'll see that it's really an upside down triangle scheme. /s
Relys··on How to hack a turned-off computer, or running unsigned code in Intel ME
I'm pretty sure that was the entire point of the DARPA Cyber Grand Challenge. XD
Relys··on Boosted gets a new CEO as the company tries to grow beyond electric skateboards
Boosted hit peak market growth and they know it IMHO. They got in early and had a lot of high profile YouTube Vloggers repping their brand. Unfortunately I think it will be very hard for them to compete with what's currently coming out of Shenzhen. Source: I own an eboard that's like a third of the price with more or less the same specs. Unless you're dealing with a premium carbon fiber frame there is absolutely no reason to pay over $600 for an eboard.
Relys··on Show HN: IRAengine – buy Ethereum/Bitcoin with your IRA or 401k
Sure I'm going to invest my retirement savings in a volatile, unregulated, digital crypto-currency that isn't even quantum proof. \s Hell the core developers can't even increase the transaction block size limit to save their lives. If I wanted to take a stupid gamble I'd just do it here in Vegas.
Relys··on Six contenders to be Uber's new CEO
Re Re 2: The problem that I am seeing here is the lack of logic and thought put into the justification behind such a drastic change. Noise levels in a typical cubical environment are distracting enough to the average engineer. Same issue with the remote work policy. What it boils down to is a leader who creates "edicts" based on a personal preference or "cherry picked" facts rather than reason, logic, market research, A/B validation testing, etc.
Relys··on Ask HN: Cheap, hackable e-reader?

Relys··on Alaska Air Acquires Virgin America
Ultimately time will reveal the outcome of this merger, but if Virgin America becomes more like Alaska Air that is hardly a bad thing in my eyes.
Relys··on Pebble's next step
It doesn't look like either of these are in production anymore. :(

Relys··on Apple Delays AirPods Wireless Headphones
I have a pair of the MPOW Magneto's (https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetooth-Headphones-Cancelling-...). I found them while looking for an alternative to the JayBird BlueBuds my girlfriend has (which are like $120). The Magneto's have a 6-8 hour battery life (and standby time is days). Bluetooth 4.1. Apt-X codec for higher quality audio. Active noise cancellation. Nifty magnet feature which allows you to pick up calls and ware it around your neck without loosing it. If you're looking for a feature rich pair of Bluetooth headphones that have a decent battery life you honestly can't beat MPOW for the price.
Relys··on What are malicious USB keys and how to create a realistic one?
I recently made a few of these with Cactus Micro Rev2's. :D
Relys··on The bumpy road towards iPhone 5c NAND mirroring
Great description. You remind me of Joe Grand (L0pht Heavy Industries), Joe FitzPatrick (NSAPlayset), Hector Martin (fail0verflow) and Micah Scott (scanlime). All are brilliant Electric Engineers with a security background. Do you have an EE degree too? Anyways, thanks for the detailed explanation. :)
Relys··on "This is Tayo. He's 11 and showed me a game he built called Spike Rush"
I fail to see where throwanem "clearly [implies] that in the context of [the] story, Mark Zuckerberg does what's best for Facebook". If anything throwanem is making an generalization of Mark Zuckerberg/Facebook based on the context of their previous actions.
Relys··on What goes wrong in the brain chemistry of a gambling addict?
Math is the difference. Casino games are a tax on people who can't do math.
Relys··on Arch Linux adapted for Windows Subsystem for Linux
I setup PCI passthrough in a virtual machine awhile back on Arch and it worked excellent! https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/3lno0t/gpu_pa...

The only issue I had was with my Oculus Rift, but I suspect I could have fixed it by getting a dedicated USB PCI card to passthrough. Anyways, for AAA games it worked wonderfully with very near native speeds.

Relys··on What Do Public Library Workers Do? (2011)
I wish more libraries would turn into hacker/maker spaces. :/
