Raydovsky··on Ask HN: Nuclear plants in war zones: A valid reason not to build more
It influenced mushroom picking because mushrooms absorb heavy metals like crazy.

They also absorb lead for instance. That's why you don't wanna pick shrooms near roads.

It's fearmongering.

I haven't seen a single expert be worried about ZPP.

Also, some gas plants were hit. Now those exploded in a scary way. That's what I'd be worried about.

Raydovsky··on How much have tech layoffs affected engineers vs. other departments?
I wish that was the case, but my experience is that there are fewer PHP jobs.

Switching a stack won't help cos places want years of experience.

Raydovsky··on Ask HN: How did you stop drinking?
I started specifying what I want.

Because booze gives 2 types of stimulation: the drinking and the alcohol.

Sometimes I want to drink some beer, but not the alcohol. So I started buying non alcoholic beers. I get a six pack into my system. I love every moment of it. But I'm not drunk.

Other times I want to get drunk. So I drink alcoholic beers.

We couldn't trust them to do anything.

And Chetu doesn't trust its employees. Heh

Raydovsky··on Many scientists see fusion as the future of energy
What kind of tech would be used for storage?
Raydovsky··on Many scientists see fusion as the future of energy
Renewables are a solved problem, but storage of energy to combat the unreliability of renewables isn't.

NPP's take about 7 years to build. The latest EPR builds are taking more due to an over complicated design.
