PxldLtd··on AR Fluid Simulation Demo
I've just done something similar with a Object tracking + IR Floodlights and one of VA Imaging's MER2 cameras. We have had some fantastic results with objects sat on these "Interactive Dance Floors" from Alibaba. Didn't even need the IR Absorbing film to get decent tracking results using OpenCV @ 300fps or so.
PxldLtd··on Eels are fish
Yes, the issue is the ancestry between "fish" being very distant. It doesn't matter if you exclude marine mammals. Many fish in the ocean are still more closely related to beings on land than another fish. It's the equivalent of calling all flying animals birds. If we excluded bats from this new definition of "bird" then a bumblebee won't suddenly become more closely related to a Buzzard.
PxldLtd··on Mistral Releases Deep Research, Voice, Projects in Le Chat
I agree here a fair bit, not that I'm an expert or anything. I'd like to see some progress on some of the neuronal modelling. It seems since 'attention is all you need' they've locked into this LLM stack and gluing up models as data pipelines rather than integrating different NN's on a deeper level.
PxldLtd··on WebAssembly: Yes, but for What?
Because people need to run their Apps on multiple targets and having one codebase for all targets helps with keeping maintenance and development costs down. Java would meet this requirement if the UX/UI story was anywhere near as good as the Web's. I'd argue that UI has been the main driver of all of this.
