Pryde··on IBM's AI lost debate to a human
For anyone interested in listening in, here’s a link to the podcast: https://www.intelligencesquaredus.org/debates/ibm-project-de...

I was personally (as someone not currently following the state of the art) quite impressed with Project Debater. She seemed fairly capable of understanding Harish’s arguments, though at a basic level and making some assumptions that I’m not sure were actually implied by his arguments.

I’m just getting into learning about ML, so if anyone with a better understanding of the field wants to share their insights about this project, I’d love to hear it!

Pryde··on Ask HN: Fired from first job, now what?
I definitely don't want to lie to potential future employers, is there a particular way I should handle any questions about the gap?
Pryde··on Ask HN: Fired from first job, now what?
Thanks for the advice and encouragement. Like I said, this happened today, so I'm not sure I'm being the most fair to the company. It's a very small company, who I'm sure need to be employing people with a much faster turn-around time than I had. I completely understand their issue with my productivity, and I've been trying to improve that so that it's not an issue with future employment. I was likely also not the best at seeking help when I should have.

Regardless, I appreciate the advice. In your opinion, should I keep this job on my resume?

Can I ask why you feel that way?

No need to be rude about what may be long-held theological beliefs. Respectfully disagreeing is fine, thinly veiled hostility is a bit uncivil
