Pete_D··on What typing ^D does on Unix (2009)
If you wrote the for loop interactively, you can suspend it with ^Z and kill its jobspec with 'kill %n' (for n usually = 1).

If it's part of a script, your script probably wants to trap SIGINT.

For gdb TUI, you can also use the 'focus cmd' and 'focus src' commands to choose which window gets to handle up/down. I usually keep the command window focused out of habit because the source window intercepts too many keys for my liking.

Nice link - reminds me to try to use the history stuff like ! and ^ more.

There's a lot of unexpected gems in the readline defaults. I recommend people try paging through "bind -p" in bash some time to see what's there.

Personal favorites are C-r to search back in history and C-x C-e to edit the current command line in an external editor.

I can't remember which, but I saw one project change to "primary/secondary".

This sounded like fun, so I had a go at implementing it for bash using ANSI control codes[0][1] (though other people have posted much better solutions). You still have to look at the bottom to see the command's output though, so I'm not sure you gain much. If you're having neck troubles, is adjusting your monitor an option?

I know at least one project already has - the surf browser's code of conduct[0] is more or less the full text of the manifesto.

It's great that you're seeing benefits, but I wanted to bring this to your attention (and anyone else doing long-term fasting) in case you hadn't already heard of it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refeeding_syndrome. In particular, "any individual who has had negligible nutrient intake for more than 5 consecutive days is at risk of refeeding syndrome".

I don't know in practice _how_ big the risks are - I've been meaning to get an official medical opinion for some time - but I've started trying to take it into account for my fasts (usually two or three days) and plan accordingly (drinking rehydration salts while fasting, and breaking the fast slowly, with plenty of milk for phosphates).

Apologies if you already knew about this.

I'm impressed this is possible in pure CSS. What implications does this have for security/privacy? Should I be blocking CSS in addition to JS now just in case?
