I disagree with this. I have a SaaS that depends on me and I have never gotten so much satisfaction from work before. It's not only because I'm making more money than I would ever make as a salaried engineer or because I have a super flexible schedule, but because I have the autonomy to say no to clients and decide in which direction the product goes.
Studies should almost never use the term "vegan diet" to arrive at any conclusions. A vegan diet can be potato chips and oreos, whole foods high carb, whole foods high fat, 100% raw, etc. I assume most of them would produce significantly different results.
Also, is it a good idea to hire a freelancer to pen-test your application?
Try to interview every user that churns (offer them a Starbucks card for their feedback) and figure out why they are leaving. For some reason, their expectations are not being met. Fixing that is probably easier than starting a new business.
I like landing pages with lots of screenshots, showing how a problem is solved in a few steps. However, I tried to do that for my company and conversion rates dropped. So I had to give in to the marketing guy who was telling me to just focus on the benefits of using the product and not on how it solves it. Now our landing page has no screenshots and the conversion rates are great. Go figure.

Even though I don't remember if the Security Rule specifically covers this stupid scenario, I think they would be found in violation if audited. They clearly have not performed a risk analysis, which by itself is a violation.
I'm sure that given the choice between not being tortured and being tortured, you would pick the former. And that's because you recognize that pain -even if subjective and sometimes necessary- is a negative feeling for the one experiencing it.
What's arbitrary is saying that you don't want to inflict pain on human babies but are okay with inflicting pain on baby pigs, assuming both are equally capable of experiencing pain and distress. You are picking an arbitrary trait (species) and ignoring the relevant one (ability to feel pain).
