When I worked in China, I say most of my team had FB profiles. Then again I was working for a major Chinese IT company and we had a lot of foreign collaborations in open source stuff.
So basically child bearing age or not.
One of my ex's maternal grandma left her a little over $100K for college. The grandma trusted her daughter and son in law to manage it. The parents divorced and the mother went wild for a while and spend it on drugs, partying, and vacations. My ex ended up taking a bit OSAP.
I like to know before I pre-order if it will work in my region.
A phone without a PDF viewer or calendar app? :)
Upon initial shipment of the Librem 5 in 2019, it will offer the essentials: phone functionality, email, messaging, voice, camera, browsing. The featureset will expand after shipment and over time to more free software applications. Your user experience will improve as we incrementally add commonly requested applications and features (such as calendaring, notes, calculator, PDF viewer, etc.) while keeping performance in mind.
Purism is going to ship the Librem 5 without the ability to do calendar, notes app, calculator app, and PDF viewer. My question is why? Why is this a good idea?
Edit: Reference their site: "Upon initial shipment of the Librem 5 in 2019, it will offer the essentials: phone functionality, email, messaging, voice, camera, browsing. I'm willing to put up 100CAD that it won't ship this year.
You have to remember that the people on HN from China or Chinese is not representative of the average person in China. My cousin was born and raised in China in a tier 2 city. He now works in a tier 2 city making 30K RMB/month which is extremely good pay. He has travelled abroad many times and reads western books/culture.
I was born in China and left at 16. Educated in Canada and went back at 26 and worked for 14 years there before I left. When I was there I was working in major IT companies in a tier 1 city.
You have to think about Hu's The Harmonious Society Idea (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonious_Society) and part of the 'Stability At All Cost' ideal. The censorship is for the average person in China.
Hell when I was working in China (left in 2016), I didn't care that much and still doesn't. Money is good and the benefits are awesome.
