Well they already got profits on their bookstore, why would they need to make a version where you got ads on top of that. I guess if we follow your logic they could build phones, consoles and TVs with ads too. I can understand free books with ads but not the hardware/software that reads it.
Can't believe there is such a thing of having an Ereader with ads. Ok it's cheaper but come on, that really shows us how low they think of us. I can understand for a free product but for something you pay ... like seriously!
Might be a stupid question but in France books over 50 years of age ended up "free" (to read not to exploit), does it work the same way on all countries? Does it mean we can access books that are over 50 years in your platform or even GP?
Well there is already a Chinese port there that is used for the Maritime silk road but I'm sure this is an opportunity for them to create more. I feel like it's too late already, Biden is weak and I don't think there is any win for them to get involve.
Out of curiosity, has she changed her way of living post treatment?
I always wondered, if you stick in the same environment with the same lifestyle, I feel like it's something that could retrigger it. Could be the water, the polution, the food, lack of sun ... Also I read that it's not great to stay at the same place that made you sick in the first place.
Really sad to hear that story. Out of curiosity, has she changed her way of living post treatment? I always wondered, if you stick in the same environment with the same lifestyle, I feel like it's something that could retrigger it. Could be the water, the polution, the food, lack of sun ...
She underwent six months of chemotherapy and a mastectomy in April 2018, followed by 15 cycles of radiotherapy which cleared her body of cancer.
But in October 2019 the cancer returned, and scans showed it had spread to her lung, lymph nodes and chest bone and she was told she had a poor prognosis.
'Horrible side effects'
Two months later, the mother-of-two was offered a two-year trial at The Christie of an experimental medicine combined with Atezolizumab, an immunotherapy drug.
Doctors have told her she is now showing no evidence of the disease.
I hope they would put that much enthusiasm to claim and clean all those ships that sunk in WW2 and massively poluting the oceans while leaking some dark petrol/charcoal mix.
I hope you don't call the person's former company before he signed the contract, you should not do that because he may not have resigned and told anyone about it, this could compromise him if he decides to pull out at the last minute. I would be really pissed if someone would do that to me and I would make sure tell everyone this sneaky behaviour on Glassdoor. Also I've resigned once but decided to take a month off in between so dates wouldn't match.
From my experience:
1. In House recruiter are just bad, they have no energy and you lose all motivation after you talk to them.
2. Put the salary range, when it's not written I don't even bother applying.
3. 4 hours assignment is long, people tend to not want to spend too much time on assignment as it could be a complete waste of time, you don't get paid and most already have a job and don't want to work another few hours for something that lead nowhere and that you may not ever receive a feedback.
Nice to see something about MesoAmerican gods!
I like how Quetzalcoatl/Kukulkan is sometimes represented as a Viking with scale and beard, makes you think there could have been "Vinland" in the Gulf of Mexico too.
I read an article a while ago that suggested people in cities had a worst eye sights than people on the country because of the buildings and not proper distance your eye could adapt and train itself. I guess it makes sense considering there are more and more skyscrapper in Asia.
The thing is 10 years in Jail is not going to teach them anything or protect society. The only victims are the broadcast companies, not like it ruined anyone's life. I think 1 year in Jail would have been more than enough, those people are not going to start again anytime soon anyways.
Salkantay is a great trek too, as for Laugavegur I would have to go back to Iceland and do that one, it looks amazing! (how long was the trek? Did you prepare/book long in advance?). Well yes travelling is great but it's not the answer to every problems, it's a way to know yourself outside work, which is more important in the end. And yes I completely agree with you, you just want to travel more, it's really addictive and I take it, it's because it gives you a lot of enjoyment as life should be.
I think it's a mindset. People want meaning in their life, I wonder if it's because they are bored. I have travelled a lot and I had no meaning in mind, just went with the flow, no plans at all, just places I knew I wanted to go. I can't say it's the solution for everyone, but for many it will do you good.
I'm sorry to hear about your kid. I don't know about your situation to give you any help.
Most of the people have no valid reason at all, they imagining the chains that are holding them down.
There is not always meaning in life, sometime you can just go with the flow and still enjoy life. Travelling is not the answer to everything but it will make you a lot happier if you do it right. It's the not the Destination, It's the journey -- random smart quote.
