NEDM64··on The Perks Are Great, Just Don’t Ask What We Do
I've seen an ad for GTA5 for iOS and Android (obvious scam) on Facebook, and thousands of people liking, and hundreds of comments, most seemed organic, of people tagging their friends.

Copyright infringement + scam, right there on Facebook.

NEDM64··on “Apple took away Messages.app UI scripting capabilities in OS X 10.11”
It's not only squashing interop. with iMessage.

It's also a way to squash spam and whatnot from iMessage.

NEDM64··on 85 percent of Facebook video is watched without sound
I'm not talking about that compression, I'm talking about dynamic range compression.
NEDM64··on 85 percent of Facebook video is watched without sound
Considering the awful compressed audio that goes with ads, it's a good thing.

I could stand ads and TV if it weren't for the blasting audio.

NEDM64··on 85 percent of Facebook video is watched without sound
One that gives me the direct image link right away, specially easy to use on mobile.
NEDM64··on Governments Turn to Commercial Spyware to Intimidate Dissidents
It's very easy, if that person say he/she doesn't have anything important on their phones, they have a GPS.
NEDM64··on Qualcomm KeyMaster keys extracted directly from TrustZone
You're trying too hard.
NEDM64··on Qualcomm KeyMaster keys extracted directly from TrustZone
He's a troll.

iPhones don't use it. They don't use Qualcomm SOC's.

NEDM64··on Qualcomm KeyMaster keys extracted directly from TrustZone
More like bye bye Android Pay, didn't take much for the weakest link to break.
NEDM64··on Qualcomm KeyMaster keys extracted directly from TrustZone
It was an iPhone. Not Qualcomm.
NEDM64··on “Apple took away Messages.app UI scripting capabilities in OS X 10.11”
Normal.

There were people selling apps that bought iMessage to other platforms, by using VMs in servers running the desktop App and using the scripting functionality.

NEDM64··on Apps made for one OS shouldn't insist on aping the design elements of another
Completely wrong. UIWebViews can render your modified HTML.

There are many Apps that do that, and Google already did that, with their data compression feature.

NEDM64··on Peter Thiel's dangerous blueprint for perverting philanthropy
Exactly.

If anything, this is not a problem of freedom of speech. This is an old legal problem: "the rich have money to pay the lawyers and the poor don't".

But in this case, Hulk Hogan is 100% right, and Thiel is doing society a favor.

NEDM64··on Peter Thiel's dangerous blueprint for perverting philanthropy
I don't care, most publications today post whatever their "advertisers" want. Ventriloquism are the correct words, if you ask me.

There's no such thing as press today.

NEDM64··on IBM is not doing "cognitive computing" with Watson
For the sake of sanity, IBM was the company with most patents awarded last year. Is it that difficult to admit that they are well enough?

If it were household names like Google or Apple, would help?

NEDM64··on IBM is not doing "cognitive computing" with Watson
87 is 29 years ago.
NEDM64··on Avoiding BlackBerry’s fate
There aren't also "official" numbers for Samsung smartphones, but everyone says they are the best sellers.

There are no analysts numbers that support what you said.

And the "low end" model is above what others call the "high end" model.

The Apple Watch is, in all analysts reports, the #1 smart watch in sales numbers, by a wide margin.

Yes, Fitbit and Xiaomi may sell more, but those are $150 and $14 fitness bands, a stopgap solution.

NEDM64··on Avoiding BlackBerry’s fate
Also Amazon has their store as the killer feature, Apple has HomeKit as the killer feature.

What does Google have? I don't care about search results, they never work automatically, they don't work in a voice only environment.

If you disagree, search Google for "what happened to dinosaurs".

NEDM64··on How Intel missed the smartphone market
Yeah?

I would like to see a scientific comparison between Apple, Qualcomm and Intel...

I bet that if Apple or Qualcomm wanted, they could create a desktop ARM that would be a generation ahead of Intel.

NEDM64··on Apple invests $1B in Chinese ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing
No, $1B for a company that works.
NEDM64··on Apple invests $1B in Chinese ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing
An antitrust, where Apple would lose.
NEDM64··on PHP 7 word count benchmark
Surprised by Python and Go results. They should have tested with PyPy too.
NEDM64··on Dear Apple, there’s nothing ‘really sad’ about using a 5-year-old PC
How much battery life dos your PC have?
NEDM64··on Dear Apple, there’s nothing ‘really sad’ about using a 5-year-old PC
You probably did a very bad deal.
NEDM64··on Dear Apple, there’s nothing ‘really sad’ about using a 5-year-old PC
That's not a PC (Personal Computer), it's a server.

You are thinking about hardware, Apple is talking about the whole computer.

NEDM64··on Google nabs Apple as a cloud customer
Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.

The same deals they do with Samsung, for example.

Playing nice with Microsoft, Amazon and Google means they will also play nice with Apple.

NEDM64··on Swift Ported to Android
Apple doesn't use swift because they already have stable versions of their Apps written in Objective C and there's no reason to rewrite everything in swift because they can mix ObjC and Swift.
NEDM64··on Swift Ported to Android
How much RAM does a single hello world take in C#?

How much time does it take to create a thread in mono on my Linux VM?

How much does it cost a license for Visual Studio?

NEDM64··on Why I don't want stuff
I'm not that extreme, but I'm always postponing the day I finally get a trash bag and fill it with everything I don't want or don't need and put it in the trash or sell it on eBay/give it to goodwill.

The favorite part of my house, is the micro studio in my apartment where I keep my electronics stuff (workbench with instruments) and various components like resistors, transistors, caps, inductors, switches, LEDs, glue logic, mcu's soldering stuff. Because I arranged it like it should be, with everything in it's own place.

NEDM64··on Bill Gates Says Apple Should Unlock the iPhone
Sure. It's a Backdoor that only you and Apple know of. Right?
