MitPitt··on Litestar is worth a look
You can use asyncpg in SQLAlchemy
MitPitt··on Perplexity Response to Cloudflare
Recently I've been unable to beat cloudflare's captcha at all, locking me out of many services. Modern problems require modern solutions, and it shouldn't hurt regular users.
MitPitt··on Cops in [Spain] think everyone using a Google Pixel must be a drug dealer
Sounds like an astroturfing stunt from either Google or GrapheneOS
MitPitt··on Show HN: A tool to benchmark LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, local/self-hosted)
If it was named 'api arena' everyone would eat it up
MitPitt··on Iran asks its people to delete WhatsApp from their devices
> read by Meta Corporation or

Neither please! Corpos can obviously sell out or be pressured into giving out info to all sorts of agencies

MitPitt··on If nothing is curated, how do we find things
You only get the live tracklist if you pay? This sucks!
MitPitt··on Urtext: The Python plaintext library for people who've tried everything else
markdown and markup languages are plaintext
MitPitt··on Hyperwood – Open-Source Furniture
Reminded me of village kit (https://villagekit.com/ https://gridbeam.xyz/). That one didn't fly so good it seems.
MitPitt··on Show HN: Morphik – Open-source RAG that understands PDF images, runs locally
Should I use this if I don't plan on working with pdfs? What's the best RAG currently?
MitPitt··on WikiTok
Text could also be more compact
MitPitt··on Spatial Pixel: a new kind of social computing
I'll add touchDesigner to the list of things other people are mentioning here. It's probably the most expansive software piece of this kind.
MitPitt··on SSH Artwork
Comparing visually wasn't safe in the first place for the same reason, this changes nothing
MitPitt··on Cargo Airships Are Happening
> too many of them fell

How many of them fell? Tried searching this up and barely any fell. Very few deaths too.

MitPitt··on The Netherlands has returned some stolen artifacts to Indonesia
Unfortunately artifacts returned to their origin country are often sold off to private collection or are otherwise lost. First world countries are better at preservation of such things and should keep it.
MitPitt··on New Gaussian Splatting viewer that allows code modification during runtime
Ah, I'm rather looking for a ready-to-go repo for a layman like me to just have a quick go. The latest I used was nerfstudio a long time ago. Seems to be updated regularly still, I wonder if it supports training splat scenes now. I also wonder if there were any better similar projects since then.
MitPitt··on New Gaussian Splatting viewer that allows code modification during runtime
Currently, what's the best way to make gaussian splat scenes from video?
MitPitt··on I'm funding Ladybird because I can't fund Firefox
How did you figure Ladybird is receiving millions?
MitPitt··on Ask HN: what are examples of successful "open-source alternatives"?
How does it compare to MediaWiki, another very old and very extensive engine?
MitPitt··on Show HN: I created an After Effects alternative
What about just turning off your network?
MitPitt··on LosslessCut: The Swiss army knife of lossless video/audio editing
They are both GUIs for ffmpeg, I think you're mistaken and they do a lot of similar things
MitPitt··on LosslessCut: The Swiss army knife of lossless video/audio editing
I wonder how it compares to Handbrake
MitPitt··on Show HN: Ritt – Tag-centric file manager
I've been using Hydrus [1] for the longest time now. It covers all of my tagging needs. Using the API, I can tag images using AI models [2], and have a client [3] to search through files on my phone. Native features also include automatic imports, backups, deduping, and much more.

The maintainer is working tirelessly and pushes new updates every week. It's one of the most underrated pieces of software ever, in my opinion.

MitPitt··on Jgs Font
I think this is an awesome font for Dwarf Fortress in particular
MitPitt··on Feynman's Garden
You misinterpreted the article, which is about solutions which just "come" after heavy brain activity. You're talking about iterative, conscious problem solving, which is the complete opposite.
MitPitt··on DuckDuckGo AI Chat
DDG has terrible reputation, what are you talking about. From sharing user data with Microsoft, to hiding websites in search due to political bias
MitPitt··on Show HN: Teable – Open-Source No-Code Database Fusion of Postgres and Airtable
Where can I see it?
MitPitt··on Show HN: Teable – Open-Source No-Code Database Fusion of Postgres and Airtable
I would love to hear some comparison points with: nocodb, baserow, grist. These are all very similar and open-source, does teable bring anything new to the table?
MitPitt··on Report: YouTube adding user-traceable ID tag to links shared off-platform
So you changed nothing because it still builds a friend graph
MitPitt··on Chasquid – SMTP server focused on simplicity
Does anyone know of an SMTP server which is easily usable with Caddy? I find tinkering with certificates quite bothersome, and I won't give up Caddy as I already host a bunch of apps with it.
MitPitt··on Tesla Cybertruck Pricing and Specs
Modern normal cars are very ugly
