Not at all? There's a clear moral (and certainly legal) dividing line between the two.
So called "pinkwashing" is well known among leftist circles so to suggest that entire political spectrum has been hoodwinked by American corporations seems wrong?
The real answer is just that the Left isn't particularly powerful in the US, even during the WTO protests.
Leftists are anti-corporate power in the public sphere.
None of this is paradoxical.
I think the basic idea is that the government shouldn't be involved in institutionalizing or promoting preferred media narratives of any form.
I disagree that the "larger issue" is that people are misinformed. In fact, I would suggest that there have been several thousand years where people were horribly misinformed on a number of topics.
Sure except the subpoena in question was not actually about records of conversations that the rioters had, it was about efforts FB did/didn't take to discount election misinformation.
Election misinformation is covered by free speech.
~50% of all private wealth in the US is generational wealth inherited by the richest 5% of households, 60% of all private wealth is inherited at all.
I trust the French/German political tradition a lot more than I trust Poland's
The first "manipulation" identified would not impact Cuba's position as 1st in life expectancy in Latin America, as they concede in their article.
> conventional wisdom
Talk about unclear referents! I question the existence of a universal "conventional wisdom" on political issues like these.
Cuba does not have a major hunger problem at all and has a higher life expectancy than the US.
Lumping Cuba and North Korea together is silly & misguided.
This is very different from the DPRK.
That said, there is essentially no information in this article that makes me believe that they actually talked to this person as opposed to making up a caricature of how they imagine life in NK to be.
Huggingface offers a few models that are pre-trained [0], OpenNMT is a good framework [1] as is MarianMT [2]. Many of the best MarianMT models have been ported to HuggingFace.
If you don't want to self host, huggingface offers these APIs at a cost.

I'm a bit confused by this article. AFAIK PCR tests are only reporting a positive at 35 cycles. The author of the article is correct that it is run for 40 cycles often, but this is only because a positive between 36-40 cycles indicates "unclear result" and the test is repeated with a different assay targeting a different component of the virus. Positive is only reported at 35 cycles max.
This should not pick up any "dead cells", it will pick up viral mRNA. There is a concern over picking up low loads, but the mRNA is still there.
Ad hom is only fallacious if the information really is irrelevant to the argument [0][1]

Being able, but unwilling, to get vaccinated substantially shifts my priors of where your comment is coming from. It is useful information, and I appreciate when people disclose it.
If you replace vaccination with an analogous, more politically one-sided limit case (say [not being a Nazi]:[supporting a policy of Hitler] - in typical Godwinian fashion), you can see why this sort of information would be useful.
Regardless, this is a different point than the original comment.
c'mon, you're at least a year behind the conspiracy theory state of the art, we're on vaccine infertility now.
I am not in favor of sentencing people to death just because their stupidity happened to lie on the vaccination axis, while other stupid people get to live.
