Liesmith··on Ask HN: Anyone know which technology was used in the Michael Jackson Hologram?
it was considered a major innovation in the 1500s when they invented it. you ever hear the phrase "it's done with mirrors" when someone is pretending to understand how a magic trick is accomplished? Well, this is what they are talking about. It's done with mirrors.

That said it is sick as hell. I am always impressed by the things the that people could do centuries ago that we assume have to be some futuristic tech thing.

Oh, and not to be a jerk but you could have googled this for yourself very easily.

Why would he be ironic? Consuming too many antioxidants have been tested and turn out to have some pretty ugly negative effects, just like too much of anything else at all.

Of course geeks have unhealthy lifestyles, a lot of us don't go outside and eat a lot of junk food. Sitting in the dark in front of a computer is not an activity that promotes health. This article is worthless anyway though because the guy got downvoted for posting a video of himself, not for being unhealthy, and also the guy's solution is an "antioxidant smoothie" which is pure unadulterated nonsense.

No it isn't, that's not what appeal to authority means. An appeal to authority is using someone's perceived authority to support an argument, i.e. "Actually you're wrong, because Elon Musk says" or "Um, no, do you have a PhD in this, like I do?" or some other attempt to override argument with the trappings of success rather than actual merit. I know this because I have a Masters Degree.

This is a ridiculously hostile response.
