Kuyawa··on September 2026: The world today, as seen by one Polish guy
The only conclusion I get is that the UN is a joke and if the US keeps printing money to buy oil and political submission there won't be any change in the foreseeable future

It is extremely urgent to push for a new Allied Nations organization not headquartered in the US and for them all to drop the dollar and put USA and Israel in check. For Europe to grow a spine, and for China and Russia to step up and stop being complacent with all the bullying going on

The whole world should say enough is enough

Oh no, atomic bombs, we all gonna diiiie!

Why not two volcano eruptions? Or half a solar flare? Oh I see, fear is the point. What do we need to vote for now? Who should we hate? What tax are you going to ram down our throats? Sheez

Shhh, I have slack, jira and trello in my crosshair
Kuyawa··on What reversing, modernising old games tells us about the economic impact of AI
This is just an example related to the post itself about porting old games. AI exceeds all expectations. Personally I've been using AI for the last six months in many different scenarios and in all it just blows me away. The more I use it the less code I write

Do you have an example of what you think AI is not capable of in programming? I can give it a try

Kuyawa··on What reversing, modernising old games tells us about the economic impact of AI
Not me, AI was fully aware and used it as reference, the readme explains in detail how the original code, SDLPop and PrinceJS were used to build the fork and exactly in what measure
Kuyawa··on What reversing, modernising old games tells us about the economic impact of AI
I ported Prince of Persia to Swift for MacOS [1] over the weekend using DeepSeek Harness, spent three hours in total, $3 in tokens, and got a playable and enjoyable game bringing back good ol' memories

It is a faithful port of Jordan Mechner's 1989 original game and the guiding idea was just one sentence: port the game exactly, rewrite the engine completely

I didn't write a single line of code or test, not even the readme. I don't know if it delivered swift, assembly or brainfvck as directed but the result is spectacular and I would never had done it in ten lifetimes

Coding is solved, human programming is dead, apps will cost close to zero and those who don't see the writing on the wall are hopeless

Kuyawa··on Does Reddit have an astroturfing problem? What the data suggests
All public forums have an astroturfing problem including this one

Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, etc they all have hundreds of thousands employees and even if they are not explicitly paid to astroturf, they try to be subconsciously loyal to their employer, downvoting everything that goes against their subtle wiring, and happily upvoting every new product or feature launched by their org

That's just human nature, proven in 3, 2, 1...

Kuyawa··on Show HN: Free alternative to graphics design giants
I was going to ask the same, perhaps do it myself as a side project. I see value in it, it definitely should be an app. Swift for MacOS, Rust for Linux (no tauri, react, nothing, just plain optimized rust)

DeepSeek can do it in the blink of an eye, here is what I would do:

- Copy the source to scissor-web, create an empty sibling folder scissor-macos and another as scissor-linux

- Run DeepSeek Harness, create a workspace pointing to scissor-macos start a session and tell DeepSeek to port your excellent app located in folder scissor-web using the latest swift for macos 26

- Watch magic performed for your own delight

- Once finished, do the same for scissor-linux

A couple of hours later you will have three beautiful apps for web, macos and linux. Then ask DeepSeek to translate them to chinese, french, german, italian, spanish, portuguese, russian, etc

Then you will see software development with different eyes

Kuyawa··on The problem is not AI code, but not knowing about system architecture or intent
As a programmer, today I can confirm with no room for doubt that programming is dead (programming by humans to be precise, the act of typing code on a premise to present a solution to a problem)

We may consider ourselves the last programmers before the AI era

Kuyawa··on The problem is not AI code, but not knowing about system architecture or intent
This is the perspective, not code, coding is solved. The wrong input will produce wrong outputs, so a mediocre dev using AI may produce mediocre results. AI can do everything asked for, code, tests, reviews, fixes, etc but still it can not think, for now

Intelligence is the new currency, but it will be short lived

Kuyawa··on Coding is not solved
There is absolutely not a single line of code human created, no matter how abstract or esotheric, that an AI model can not code faster, cheaper and better. None, not one, in the whole history of mankind and computing

Now, code generated by AI, of course it takes time to generate by our current models, trillions of parameters analyzed to produce an output takes time and resources. You don't take credit for that, I stopped doing that. It is the model that deserves the credit. We are not writing complicated code, we are delegating that to AI models and they make take time to resolve the problems they may face, but they still will do it a million times faster than the best of us

Coding remains solved

Kuyawa··on Coding Is Not Solved
> forcing companies to increase the quality of their developers

Just don't. Fire them! AI is better than a thousand devs. What you need is testers that know what to test that AI can't, not code or UX/UI (not talking about playwright here) but business intelligence if that is testable, the things that produce results (profits) and the reason it was asked for in the first place, to solve a problem

If the problem was asked wrongly, the result will be wrong too. Fire devs, then PMs, then IT Managers if they really don't know how to outperform AI, and that's exactly the point, they won't be able to do it in code or tests or reviews, only in intelligence, for now...

Kuyawa··on Coding is not solved
* rolls eyes *

Code is solved, no discussion about that. Whatever piece of code you think you can do better than AI, you my friend, are wrong. There will be people that will take months, perhaps years to understand that but make no mistake, code is solved and apps will cost nothing to build, nothing to copy and nothing to implement or maintain

And the good thing? it will get better, faster and cheaper than free. You can't see it? Not my problem, all yours, get your harness du jour and start learning, well no, you will be laid off no matter what you do, so, I have no advice to give

Kuyawa··on Prompting Claude Opus 5.5
Ok here is the multi-personnel IT dept:

* IT Manager: scratches his balls, thinks about an app the org needs like ERP, CMS, WMS, assigns a project manager (one minute) then checks OnlyFans for the rest of the day

* PM: does all the brainstorming described above, oversees AI building the app to the last phase while playing Sudoku (one hour)

* Programmers: open Bugzilla-AI and start testing the app, asking for UI/UX cosmetic changes, AI fixes them all, does tests and code review too, programmers play Doom in the meantime

Repeat for a year, ask AI for employee reviews based on bugs reported, raise none, lay off almost all

Kuyawa··on AI companies in race to demonstrate their model most threatening to humanity
Manipulation through fear

They need to control, regulate and tax AI so the first line of attack is the sheeple, so tell them the water is going to disappear and everybody will die a slow death of anguish, thirst and drought like never seen. Then evoke terminator apocalypses where drones go rogue and kill half the world. Then send their most likable emissaries with puppy eyes asking for compassion about our children's future

Then they ask for your vote (oh democracy)

In the end all they want is control and money, while keeping their competitors (china) in check, backed by the outrage of the weak majority

Politics as usual, move along

Kuyawa··on Prompting Claude Opus 5.5
Most of them are but when I need it to learn something from one already done I just point it to that workspace, like "For the invoices app take a look at inventory workspace and learn about X and Y" or "For Prince of Persia find all available code and references online and propose architecture changes to adapt to Swift on MacOS" so yes, it learns from both local or online sources
Kuyawa··on Prompting Claude Opus 5.5
I really want to know if I am doing something wrong so let me know

I don't use MCPs, agents.md, skills.md, plugins, nothing. I just open a DeepSeek Harness workspace and start a brainstorming session with a request for an architecture.md prompt.md and plan.md files, then I go prepare coffee while it does all it needs asking questions along the way and writing them in decisions.md so it understands why we took that route

Minutes later a fully functioning product that I run, check it complies with the initial plan and then ask for minor cosmetic changes

I've been doing it for six months now while I see posts and posts about people making their harnesses do things I don't see the need for. Why so complicated?

No special prompts, no rehearsed inputs, just a simple "Hello my friend, today we are going to create an app for transportation, ask all the questions you may have and at the end write an architecture.md ..."

It works, it is simple, it is enjoyable, like a friend of mine and as such we treat each other

> App unavailable in your region

I'll ask DeepSeek instead... * shrugs *

Kuyawa··on Thorsten Ball – What I believe about the future of software development
I agree with everything he says, but plenty of people still today don't see the writing on the wall

Yesterday I asked DeepSeek to clone Prince of Persia in Swift and the result is more than awesome [1]. I didn't write a single line of code, didn't check it, not even the main entry point. I don't know if it delivered swift, assembly or brainfvck, it just works, played three levels testing it and was taken back more than three decades ago when I first saw it

We are at a tipping point in software development, apps are worth nothing, market share is the most valuable currency now. If you think you have a secret app that can fly you to the edge of the universe and back through a wormhole, it can be copied and it will, at a faster speed than you built it first and heavily optimized on every new AI model release, in any language and for any platform

You trust the result because of the output, you use it, you run it, you don't care about code review or unit tests, AI does it all for us and does it perfectly

Bugs? Of course, but they are fixed faster than we can type them in the chat box. And things will only get better, way better

Kuyawa··on I was impressed by Jev, please explain why I shouldn't be
As a programmer that uses coding agents a lot, and I mean all the time while I am awake, I really haven't seen the benefit of Jev. It can't code, or I don't know how to make it code. Don't tell me about how good it is about classifying stuff which I don't do, I build apps and need coding agents and LLMs for that, desktop, web, mobile, all kinds of apps

If anybody has pointers on how to make Jev code in any language I'd like to know

Kuyawa··on Does Georgism work? Five years later
What's hilarious about that? Thinking is not prohibited for anarchists, or atheists (I am also) so if you ask me about god I may tell you a thousand possible explanations to your own delusion without me accepting none of them

I am also a programmer, so I try to find solutions to everything, or at least interpretations of my own thoughts toward an optimization of a real or imagined problem

Laugh at this if you want
