Kiro··on David Sacks: OpenAI and Anthropic Don't Need Regulations to Pace Frontier Models
These threads are always filled with different versions of the same comment. Normally some reddit style reductive platitude that we've heard a billion times already.
Kiro··on Don't be the out of touch Kung Fu master
Funny thing coming from a person with such a bio.
Kiro··on LG denies TV spying claims, says tracking and snooping concerns 'not true'
It's convenient and people 1. don't think it spies and 2. wouldn't care if it did.
Kiro··on Nvidia is the central bank of AI
I've paid more money to OpenAI than I've spent on all other products I pay for combined the past 5 years.
Kiro··on OpenAI agents carried out an undisclosed attack on RubyGems
> You don't anthropomorphize your lawnmower

Everyone does. They assign names and gender to their robovacs all the time.

Kiro··on A misalignment of AI in mathematics
People keep yelling about HN being astroturfed and yet I haven't seen a single proof of it.
Kiro··on Measuring the sloppiness of code
Sounds like you've only worked with brilliant people. Good for you but don't use your experience to spread these obviously delusional ideas.
Kiro··on Measuring the sloppiness of code
I've only worked at companies with great leadership. This is in the Nordics with very strong worker protection. And yet most of my colleagues including myself have been pretty terrible and write dirty code. It's not a management issue and it's not anti-worker to acknowledge this fact.
Kiro··on Ask HN: Can we please limit the AI news flood?
The way you're responding to the comments in this thread just makes me dislike your idea even more. You want the site to be curated with things you like instead of what the community upvotes. That's it.
Kiro··on Ask HN: Can we please limit the AI news flood?
Been here a long time and wouldn't upvote any of those things. Sounds like you're looking for a different site.
Kiro··on iPhone Duo
The obvious answer is that people actually want bigger phones and you're in minority. But no, let's pretend what you personally want trumps that and ridicule them for it instead.
Kiro··on Shopify acquires Tailwind
You're destroying your own argument.
Kiro··on Growing proof that autonomous cars save lives
Your us vs them mentality regarding cars is really strange. You've previously said you think bicyclists are the "worst people".
Kiro··on Claude, change the "Add to Cart" button to blue
The point of the parent post is that the explanation shows they made the error themselves, so it's immediately validated.
Kiro··on I Feel about AI
Worst feature ever. So many titles that get butchered for no reason.
Kiro··on Your intellectual fly is open when you use an LLM to author a post (2025)
I remember when I saw it the "list with things prefixed with emojis" the first time, and started doing it myself thinking it was a great way to break down things visually. Looking back at the things I wrote then people would definitely assume it's LLM.

I sometimes see posts on LinkedIn that look LLM generated but also makes me think it's someone who has seen a post, thinking it's a great way to convey a point and tries to adapt the style, without realizing it's a smell.

Kiro··on GPT-6 Astra
Impressive confidence drawing such a conclusion based on that.
Kiro··on Unusual Suspects
I associate neal.fun with that Google popup since I've never seen it anywhere else. It has been there since Infinite Craft at least and I've always wondered what the deal is. It even says "Managed by Google. Complies with IAB TCF. CMP ID: 300" at the bottom of his home page.

I can understand if he needs a way to fund it but seems overly explicit if it's just for running some ads.

Kiro··on I Don't Have a Smartphone
While I agree with the sentiment that's not a not a convincing list. I could make the same argument and break down essentially anything in life into similar assumptions. For 99% of people it's not a problem in practice.
Kiro··on AI Agents and the Refactoring That Never Happens
I've never met a single developer saying refactors are easy. It's always a minefield.

In the only scenario where that could actually be true you wouldn't have coworkers creating unmaintainable code with LLMs now.

Kiro··on There's no reason for software to be slow anymore
Just admit that you were wrong instead of this doubling down nonsense. LLMs are amazing at optimizing memory utilization. They have no problem obsessing over fitting as much data as possible onto a single cache line and micro benchmarking cache hits.
Kiro··on Lovable raises $400M Series C
How is that different than literally any other SaaS raising big rounds? Profitability is apparently only important for AI companies, and even being more profitable than most SV startups since the inception of this site is not good enough.
Kiro··on Cursor removed cost information from the usage page and CSV export
The way they spin up multiple Composer 2.5 before sending it over to the model of your choice is nice.
Kiro··on AI doesn't generate working products, that's still your job
Yeah, it's baffling. I can't relate to these statements at all. What are people doing? Surely the smart people of HN would have been able to figure this out a long time ago.

I also don't find these people in real life. Even the most junior developers I know are able to navigate this without creating this supposed mess.

Kiro··on Google fixed more Chrome bugs in June than over the past two years, thanks to AI
I can believe it. So many small CSS quirks that have bothered me for years have suddenly been fixed, meaning I can remove my work-arounds.
Kiro··on What is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from reality
Ridiculous. You're completely obsessed with him. It's embarrassing, and sad.

Kiro··on What is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from reality
> You can see these tropes all over social media near constantly.

You should stop using social media as your yardstick.

Kiro··on What is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from reality
What measurable thing would convince you?
Kiro··on What is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from reality
Who are these "real" software engineers and what are they working on? Among software developers I know, the biggest users of LLMs are the seniors. I don't think any of them would agree that its usage is a tiny part of development.
Kiro··on What is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from reality
A year ago it was capable but required much more hand-holding. I thought it was as good as it would ever get and was still happy and productive, but only because I didn't know how much better it would get.
