Kalabasa··on Show HN: htmz – a low power tool for HTML
Yeah it's terrible in some use cases.

If only HTML provided a way to navigate <a> without adding a history entry, like <a nohistory href=...>.

If this was a real product i would market it as "Native time travel debugging! Go through your application state as you would go through your browser history!"

Yes this was a response to htmx. It was a half-parody half-I wanna make it work project. Like https://github.com/vilgacx/aki

I would fear if anyone wants to use this in production BUT I would love someone to get inspired and use the concepts rather than the actual code. Hmm maybe i should write a disclaimer...

Yeah it breaks without JS. You could add the iframe behind JS, so the target would default to a new tab. But the server would still be designed to return HTML fragments. I never found a way for a server to check if the originating request is for an iframe or a new tab. It's not quite a graceful degradation.

Author here. to be honest I have no idea
Kalabasa··on Show HN: Frontend Fuzzy Search
When i did my static site search function some time ago, I used Elasticlunr. I was able to pregenerate the index file as a big json file that is loaded at the client.

Yeah, wouldn't the "test" be essentially letting it generate tokens forever, without user-written prompts.

Since an LLM has no sense of self or instances, what does it mean for it to talk to itself?

In a way, doesn't it already "talk to itself" when generating sentences, e.g., its output token gets added to the input tokens successively?

Kalabasa··on We don't have official RSS feed support for now, but we're working on a solution
Meanwhile Chrome mobile seems to be bringing it back again, although it's now called "Following" a site. Not sure if it uses RSS under the hood.
Kalabasa··on PruningRadixTrie – Faster Radix trie for prefix search and auto-complete
How does that fare for non-English queries? E.g. are two chars still not enough for Chinese languages?
Kalabasa··on Show HN: Portabl.ink – create self-contained links
yeah just cloudflare things. I just fixed it!

Edit: oh, if you mean other errors. Well, Firefox is very strict on these data URLs, especially mobile version...

Builder pattern is a similar concept

Reminds me of the game Euclidea, where you manipulate geometric relationships (exactly like the circle example)
Kalabasa··on Cooklang – Recipe Markup Language
I like how it escalates as I scroll further. It has a website, cool. Then it has an app?!

Then finally you reach the footer and click on https://github.com/cooklang, then you see it has a bunch of cooklang libraries, e.g., TypeScript, python, C, etc.!

It even has a VSCode syntax highlighting package!

I appreciate the comprehensiveness of the project. It’s more than a markup language, cooklang seems to be an entire ecosystem.

Nice, using a language model AI is the perfect tool to simulate interviews and generate cover letters. Good stuff.

I wonder how many companies actually use LLMs for what they're good at instead of jumping onto the AI hype with random use-cases where anything is possible.
