I can not agree more on the point of the Simplified Billing and Monetization Mechanisms. In my opinion it is one of the greatest contributors of the Apple app store success and should be copied in the SaaS world as soon as possible as often as possible.

I'm actually looking for the same thing :) It's such a great idea for a startup btw - at the moment we have "job search" like co-founder directories/searches.

What we need is "dating site" like services. Co-founder is like a husband/wife isn't he?

The fact is that very rarely new technology is killing the old one. Radio never killed newspapers. TV never killed Radio. TV never killed books. We see marketshare shifts, new niches are being created are we simply use more devices (radio while driving, TV on the evenings, books we read before we go to sleep etc.).

iPad is really interesting because touch interface is so much more natural for us then mouse or keyboard. We just have to wait and see how we will apply this new technology in our life...

I think that "Software is Media" is one of the most important things we all should have in mind. Company should fight for something, polarize audience and never ever try to be everything for everybody.

We don't see that too much in the marketplace.

Invoicing - you create an invoice and you want printed version to be delivered to your customer.

I'm sure Skype is much better to do the same...

I think that you should look at that 1,5mln users number from different perspective.

It's HUGE amount if you think of these people as being brave enough to give their PASSWORDS and bank account details to the startup!

Using Dropbox doesn't put you in any risks. To be an early Mint adopter you must be very ... well... adventurous.

Blog is not enough. What Mint did (and is still doing) is selling their byproduct - in their case is statistics they can dig from their user data.

Statistics are always very popular among the press crowd - this can be easily sold and drives additional traffic.

We have used this algorithm in our side project http://movieorwhat.com/month/ - it seems to be working very well!

Number one thing that should be on the list - find a co-founder!

I agree that they have envisioned a Chrome-OS like system before Google (right after Netscape mentioned that they will turn Windows into set of poorly debugged device drivers). But this vision was not "Wow! Let's do that!" - instead it was more like "Oh my God! If this ever going to happen it will kill our business. Let's kill Netscape then.".

Social Proof is one of the most important automatisms we use everyday. Yet I don't agree that it makes sense to use it to avoid making worst decisions.

Last weeks of Bull market on stock exchange is the best example of the situation where people follow Social Proof and at the same time they are making worst possible thing (buying overpriced stock).

What is exactly what I expect from the VC (early stage VC). Find group of talented people, with good idea, then help to position the product on the market using portfolio companies as helpers and his brand for PR. Style everything, and then sell thru the IPO.

We have studied how small business driving their business and we can see that there is one device and one database that rules it all. It's cell phone and the addressbook.

If we can link together link generation, addressbook with the phone and collaboration/team work system we already provide huge value for small business.

At least we think we are...

Great work guys! We have started with premium also ( http://smartupz.com ) - but it's a very soft launch. We will go fully to market in about a month. We probably will share some figures after first quarter :)
