JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
Is there some near realtime cost viewer there if you have used this already. I'm pretty sure I can hit the 50 messages per 3-4 hours limit.
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
Indeed I have made an error. Updated.
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
Yes you are correct. I have made an error. Original post is updated.
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
I thought I updated the post. Yes I'm aware it was 50 per 3-4 hours. I have made a human error.
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
I have seen some third party plugins, I'm reluctant to try
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
yes you are correct. I seem to have imagined that.
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
No 50 per month limit; not idea where you got that from. The limit is 50 per 3 hours. --- ah I seem to have hallucinated that :(.

So this might actually be fine. OK

JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
I see.. so that might be better for my usecase.
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
Yes I have this experience with GPT 3.5, where my code is superior when it actually matters. But I'm not sure if GPT 4 will help me with that. There is a waitlist to pay now.

I recently tried to use it write a .scad parser. I ended up writing it myself as code it generated was useless. (This was even in Python and I tried rephrasing and giving it multiple examples)

It also loves to import libraries. Which I do not really like I prefer avoid dependencies as much as I can.

JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
I'm not using it for office work. I just want to use it for personal projects that I want to build.
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
I cannot pay even if I want to. :( There is a waitlist. Are people just using OpenAI APIs? or chatgpt+?
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
Are you not running into the limit for paid version? how are you working with in 50 per month limit? (Sorry 50 per 3-4 hour, human error)
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
How are you working with in the limitation of 50 per month? (Sorry 50 per 3-4 hour)
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
Do you run into the limit of 50 per month? or is there a way to pay more to get more GPT-4? How exactly are you using it? (50 per 3-4 hour is the correct limit, still seem small)
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
Do you run into the limit of 50 per month? is that changed now. I see there is also a wait list to join paid version. (Sorry 50 per 3-4 hour, it is still small)
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
Are you running into the 50 per month limit for + users to access GPT-4? (Sorry 50 per 3-4 h)
JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?

JaDogg··on Ask HN: Is paid ChatGPT Plus worth it?
My concern is it I will run into the 50 per month limit. Are you running into that?

nearly as good as what openai provides. - do you mean what they provide for corporate clients?

(50 per 3-4 hours not 50 per month, sorry about that human error)

JaDogg··on Unauthorized "David Attenborough" AI clone narrates developer's life, goes viral
Absolutely right. Copyright can be seen as a kind of nano-monopoly and is not truly capitalist. The rise in prices due to stagnation does not foster innovation. While capitalism has its merits, it does bring hardship to those less fortunate. It is essential to eradicate all forms of scarcity, thereby eliminating the necessity for an economy and finance, and subsequently, the need for politics.

Indeed
JaDogg··on Tell HN: How you changed my life trajectory
Best of luck, and I hope you become a millionaire or billionaire.
JaDogg··on Tell HN: How you changed my life trajectory
This is why I never created a blind account. I do not care about how much others are paid. I get what I ask for. But anyhow, I think people who got into the industry just for the money might actually be sleeping well. Everything from not enough code coverage to stupid deployment practices bothers me. And I am more emotionally invested in doing the right thing. Politics and stupid tactics drain me.

JaDogg··on Hacking ADHD: Strategies for the modern developer
I passed lot of exams (A grades, etc) with last minute study. But at some point I reached a ceiling (failed). So different people might have different ceilings.. for some they might reach this ceiling at grade 5. Some might reach it at degree level.

ADHD != dumb.

JaDogg··on Hacking ADHD: Strategies for the modern developer
I really loved it. It is much easier to read in dedicated time when there is nobody talking. and you can just add comments to the doc while reading..
JaDogg··on Hacking ADHD: Strategies for the modern developer
That make perfect sense.

If coding is really interesting to you, hyperfocus make you spend more time doing it.

Getting into the zone is probably hyperfocus kicking in.

JaDogg··on Hacking ADHD: Strategies for the modern developer
Oh no, now this is going to distract me until I built such blinking LED :(
JaDogg··on Hacking ADHD: Strategies for the modern developer
Thank you for noprocrast feature. :)

I wanted to do pomodoro - so I ended up writing a pomodoro python app. :(

I wanted to build some games - so I ended up writing a programming language.

I wanted to create a 3d design for a cyberdeck - wrote a python library to codegen.

ADHD == Yakshaving on steroids.
