Factory Reset term been around for so long and everyone already know the term meaning. Even I remember that term 25 years ago. Apple chose to change the language and this cause confusion. "Factory Reset" and "Erase all content and settings" didn't implies the same meaning. Apple should add a subtitle or a tooltip to indicate that it is factory reset or additional context for us to understand what it does. So why change the term if it isn't broken?
I wonder EU have that 40 min cut off is due to their high voltage/amperage?
The only I know that consumer coffee maker don't have the auto shut off is the one that have a rocking switch and they are normally the most basic kind ($10 - $30 USD).
This is what I did with Obsidian.md, any questions for the applications will be copied and pasted to Obsidian with my answers. If I come across a different applications that have similar question, I look up in Obsidian and use my answer from there with small modification of my answer to fit their culture or mission statement.
It helps a lot because often the company I applied for usually asked for Cover Letter. Obsidian.md have my cover letters for various companies I applied for and it is easy to look back to those and find the one that fits best or create a new entry with a copy of the previous letter and modify it from there.
Seem like I have different experience with them. I don't have issues with Android Bluetooth, I do have issues with Apple bluetooth.
Half of the time, my iPad couldn't detect my bluetooth devices (keyboard and audio accessory) are trying to connect to it (already paired). When that occurred, I have to go to the Command Center to force connect my bluetooth devices and half of the time iPad will obligate and connect. Other time it just give up and said couldn't connect or cannot find it (while my bluetooth device is poking iPad to connect). It is a hassle to use my bluetooth devices with the iPad daily.
On the Android side, it instantly connects, even my phone is sleeping.
Why not? The only sound they will find is my dogs barking, doors slamming (I lives in apartment), my partner talking in his phone, all of that background noise. Why participants should be subjected to those noise and why Zoom need to know the noises?
> Why do you prefer to sign over video instead of typing? Are there forms of expression that are more natural that way?
We signs because Signed Languages is our modality and the only form of expression in Deaf communities. There are no written sign language or spoken sign language. Using sign language is natural for us to use. We avoid using typing because it is not a true representation of the community, we don't have same proficiency of written/spoken languages as you and others. So to them, it looks like we are from a call center in India with broken English.
And there is no option to disable Zoom joining-room audio (the one that when you join the room, Zoom present the option to ask which microphone you want to enable). Why would I need to enable the microphone if I am signing to my Deaf boss? Deaf communities have major grief with those notifications.
At least, I can disable the microphone access in my macOS and Zoom won't complain. However disabling mic permission in iPadOS will make Zoom to whine about it. Every time I join a meeting, it will let me know that the microphone access is disabled and "kindly" asked me to enable it. In Windows, I can deny the microphone access to Zoom in the Windows setting, however for some reason that made Zoom to crash.
If you want to be effective signing user[0], you are encouraged to interact with our community. You get a better exposure of our language through social activities and it will help you to retain your memory of our language.
Another resource I recommend is taking sign language classes in community colleges, they are cheap to attend and satisfied your foreign language requirements (if you are undergraduate). You get interactivity from your classmate and teacher, so you get a better benefits to retain our language than relying on those app alone.
Don't be scared of learning sign languages, they can be overwhelming. But it will worth it in the end. One advantage of sign languages my hearing[1] friend told me about that they can eat and sign at the same time without speaking, they don't have to worry about spitting out the foods while they are speaking.

[1] Jargon term for a person do not have deafness.
They have a plugin for JellyFin, ShokoFin. And I believe they do have a integration with Plex.
This replaced my previous setup and it works amazing with my Kodi.
Thanks for letting me know!
My doctor office required me to provide my DOB before I can schedule an appointment or questioning over the phone. My pharmacist required my DOB before I can get my meds from them. If I don't provide my DOB, they will turn me away and assumed that I'm a scammer.
Last week, I cancelled my Netflix subscription and been trying to remove my credit card details from my account to prevent surprise reactivation in the future. There wasn't an option to do it online, so I went in their chat support and ask them to remove my CC information from my account. Then they asked me to provide my CC number to validate who I am. I told the rep that I am not comfortable sharing my CC information over the chat and prefers only give out my service code or alternative information. This rep kept ensuring that it is secured and they can't see what I am typing in. I asked them to initiate it and I will decide if it is trustworthy to put it down. I got the prompt and it asked for a full CC number. I declined the prompt and told them that I'm not comfortable doing that. And it didn't help that the rep are unintentionally behaving like a scammer. I shared my concerns about the rep behavior and remarks that scammers can say those things. The rep understand my concerns and asked for other information like the email address that is linked in the account and what are two recent activity on the device I uses. I gave out the information and validated I am the accountholder. Then the rep processed my request and I see my CC information is removed from my Netflix account.
If you have Excel running, open the Activity Monitor and find the app in the list. Then look at "Kind" column, you will see "Intel" listed. So that's why Office365 are sluggish on it.
It the same for transferring the folder/files to other location. a single 1GB file will take 5 second to transfer to external hard drive. A 1GB non-zipped folder (consists of thousands of thousand file from 1KB to 1MB each) will take half hour or more to transfer to external drive. I have a 150GB folder that contains over 500k of files, averaging 120KB to 4 MB, will take 3 hours to transfer to the external drive. I have another 120GB folder that are consist of videos, averaging 300MB to 10GB, took 20 minutes to completely transfer to external drive. This transfer through NVMe ---> spinning rust external drive through USB 3.1.
If you are pulling a large repo that have thousands of files in it will take a while for Spotlight to index each file. That is not the fault of Spotlight, that is just the way it is because it have to scan individually each file to index.
Also to completely disable it, you needs to disable the service and remove the entry from schedule tasks. It keep coming back because of the service and scheduled tasks are not disabled. This is how Google Chrome keep starting up their updater and bypassing my disabled startup entries for Chrome. Because of scheduled tasks is not removed, Chrome uses that to reactivate their updater and recreate a startup entry. Managed to completely neutered Chrome updater through Sysinternals AutoRuns.
Majority of the moderation are volunteering position, meaning they don't get paid to moderate those sites. Reddit plagued with this issue, there are power mods that moderating 50 or 100 subs. The reason for that because no one else want to moderate the subs since it requires time investment.
Moderation is always and a thorn on their site for many forum/discussion sites. When Elon Musk announced their consideration creating a new social media platform, I always think of how they will manage the moderation part in those platforms? Look at other small social media platform like Truth, Gab, Parler. Common issue with those sites is moderation.
Thankfully for SuperF4, it will force exit the game or any app that I have it focused on. I had one game that outright shamed me for doing that and I never went back to that game again. Sorry, I don't have time for games that chose to lock out the exit and three-finger salute command. SuperF4 is the boss now and there nothing that those games can do.
Also HN prevents people from voting on parent comments if they respond to it. So if they commented it, then it is considered as voted. If they up/downvote the comment and then posted a response to that, HN automatically replace the vote to comment response.
I like this approach because it is a great way to have engaging discussion than trying to drive meaningless and irrelevant comments as top comments.
