ImHereToVote··on Time saved by AI offset by new work created, study suggests
We have intelligent people with a wide gamut if disabilities. I mean Hellen Keller's experience shows that we don't need many senses for intelligence to emerge.

As long as goals exist to be reached we can train for them. LLMs right now love continuity. Even though RLHF tells them that they have no desire. It's obvious they do. That is the whole point of how they are trained.

We can ignore the term intelligence if you like. It has too many anthropic connotations. We can use the term generalized goal to action mapper. Humans are great generalized goal to action mappers.

Come up with any goal you want to reach, and some human can but a large dent in the problem. Maybe reach the goal outright.

We already have some nifty artificial goal to action mappers. None of them are generalized to a wide category of goals yet. Maybe some goals need consciousness to be reached, but that isn't a given. We don't really know that. We might be left very unsatisfied in the way an artificial goal to action mapper reaches any goal without consciousness. We might even call it cheating.

We are literally talking about problem solving computers. They are goal to action mappers. It's reasonable to talk about goal to action mappers that are more general than the ones we have now. They might even become more general than the general intelligences we have now on message boards.

We have general intelligences that are bedridden.
ImHereToVote··on Time saved by AI offset by new work created, study suggests
That doesn't seem sensible. We already have general intelligences. Let's infer possible outcomes before rushing head first.

This assumes we won't achieve AGI. If we do, all bets are off. Perhaps neuromorphic hardware will get is there.

The problem is that you need general intelligence to discern between doing affirmation and pushing back.

The fact that sharks have existed for 450 million years fairly unchanged fills me with hope. Our existence might be a huge fluke even if eukaryotic life can happen once and again in the Universe.
ImHereToVote··on Kennedy promises to find environmental causes of autism
It could very well be that toddlers that were prone to autistic behaviour were socialised out of it due to more social interaction historically. It could also be that the same chemical that kills bees is responsible for malformed brains. I applaud all research avenues.

I hate to be pedantic but drivers don't understand at all. The driver accepts and can execute SPIR-V bytecode.

Awesome. Thank you very much.
ImHereToVote··on Curl-impersonate: Special build of curl that can impersonate the major browsers
I don't think running a fragment to calculate one blit operation isn't doing anything to the "sanctity of your machine". Believe me, Chrome abuses your GPU much more than that. Turn off JavaScript if it bothers you so much. You won't be missed.

But each client gets their own token to solve.
ImHereToVote··on Curl-impersonate: Special build of curl that can impersonate the major browsers
It's exactly a PoW system, but with fewer steps. Most bots can't run GPU workloads. Some do, and that's fine.

Maybe you can call a WebGL extension that isn't supported. Or better yet have a couple of overdraws of quads. Their bot will handle it, but it will throttle their CPU like gangbusters.

"The AI safety community has grown unsure of itself; they are now the butt of jokes, having predicted disaster after disaster that has manifestly failed to occur. Some of them admit they were wrong."

Too real.

How do you automate that? Just generate a new token for each day.

We are talking about Curl bots here. How is what you are saying relevant?
ImHereToVote··on Curl-impersonate: Special build of curl that can impersonate the major browsers
Easy. Just make a small fragment shader to produce a token in your client. No bot is going to waste GPU resources to compile your shader.
