This assumes you're jamming very close to the dish. The trouble with jamming is you have to deal with the inverse square law so you really can't deny very much area. If they have a fleet of hundreds of high power modern directional jammers they could degrade this or other networks, but they're just not going to have that kind of sophistication.

While LoRa (the underlying protocol) isn't particularly EW resistant, it can theoretically handle a fair amount of jamming because of its insane processing gain. It is fairly easy to geolocate, but the equipment to do that is quite nontrivial at any scale.

Jamming against terrestrial radio is pretty meh, you need a ton of power and because of the inverse square law the bubble you can zone out is surprisingly small. There are also a lot of tricks to defeat it pretty soundly depending on the environment and type of transmission you're doing.

Yeah, it was kind of a case of both. Signal was strictly an sms replacement, it used to overlay and replace the sms app on Android. Matrix was designed to work more like telegram where it was supposed to be more standalone and fully featured. Yes, some current implementations are flawed in that you can poison caches with spam and csam, but that's not inherent to federation. There is a time and place for communities to build group consensus organically and it's a viral part of society, so while I can understand chafing at that from time to time, I wouldn't call it a protocol failure.

There were no good alternatives at the time. They were competing largely with Telegram and Whatsapp so basically anything was seen as an improvement. Since then Signal has gained popularity and set a much more robust standard for implementation, instead of hollow feature count.

It's an outlier because typically the comms cycle is very fast and only a single cycle. The radios are also quite bad and there isn't room for errors that you'd normally correct naturally in the context of a longer conversation

Seconding "dismiss with prejudice", it's a concept in US legal proceedings to keep a prosecutor from continuing to pursue a case and it would make a lot of sense in the context of the EU.
