GorillaMoe··on Bananas: Cross-Platform screen sharing made simple
Probably doable as the participant does not need to do the heavy lifting of the host with drawing cursors over other windows.

Might sketch out a quick demo at web.getbananas.net this weekend.

This should be also OSS and everyone should be able to host their own version of that web Framework.

Exactly this!

I'm currently on Wayland and it's working flawless for me. Will test on X11 this evening.

You are completely right, the website has been updated to reflect the correct flow of data.

As other users already stated, we need that to agree on connection details, but once that is done, the flow of your media data like audio, video and text is just between the two parties.

I'm not an svelte(kit) or electronjs expert by any means and have sinned a lot when it comes to best-practices regarding svelte(kit) and electronjs, but it's fascinating how quick you can build something beautiful like this with both these tools!

We have pair programming sessions quite often (fully remote) and what I mostly hate is when I want to show something and have to go like this:

"Right there at the top left, below this text header in red. No, not there, a little bit more to the top. No, almost.."

I know there are some tools out there which advertise to solve this, but then they are either paid (with money or your data), then there are servers involved where my data flows through and then they usually don't work well on linux, mac and windows.

So I built Bananas.

Fell free to test it out and open PRs!

Interesting! It's like as if we'd had the same intent. Great minds think alike ;) I created writer.gorilla.moe and editor.gorilla.moe a while ago, exactly with the same intent :)
