GoblinSlayer··on Creepy Crawlies
What phone users do on git.kernel.org? In the worst case they can login (if they get to the login page).
GoblinSlayer··on Creepy Crawlies
That's because those 67% of bots are the most stupid and don't run any javascript at all.
GoblinSlayer··on Creepy Crawlies
Botnets will just borrow your id.
GoblinSlayer··on Creepy Crawlies
If it was for profit. Here it's in response to abuse by AI companies.
GoblinSlayer··on Creepy Crawlies
I guess it's because the anubis code is heavy with allocations.
GoblinSlayer··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
>(1st Amendment doesn't have jurisdiction over the UK)

It's a matter of enforcement. And who would want to enforce 1st amendment?

GoblinSlayer··on Black hole singularity is a surface not a point
There's indeed a problem with existence of black holes. Why would they exist? They are usually postulated into existence.
GoblinSlayer··on Black hole singularity is a surface not a point
Infinite time dilation means infinite Hawking radiation that will burn everything.
GoblinSlayer··on Black hole singularity is a surface not a point
> And things like naked singularities aren't proven to not exist either.

What do you mean by not exist? If you postulate the right black hole with a naked singularity, it would have a naked singularity.

> It seems obvious that better understanding what a black hole's singularity is would require quantum mechanics

If you postulate a classical black hole, it won't require quantum mechanics to understand.

It's builtin adblocker, hehe, internet was full of shit for a while anyway. Books are the new internet.

openssh?
GoblinSlayer··on How Gödel's Proof Works (2020)
Paradox is a statement that can't be proved true or false; "this statement is false" is an example of Gödel statement. The argument doesn't work, because execution of a Turing machine can't be expressed as a Gödel number.
GoblinSlayer··on How Gödel's Proof Works (2020)
A statement that can't be proved true or false and thus demonstrates incompleteness of logic.
GoblinSlayer··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
People complain about Chrome as often as about psychopaths, because it can't be fixed.
GoblinSlayer··on How Gödel's Proof Works (2020)
That won't work. Gödel number encodes a paradox, but a halting execution of a TM is not a paradox, so can't be written as a Gödel number.
GoblinSlayer··on Someone is running mass vulnerability scans, spoofing AI bots like ClaudeBot
Where do you think all the AI investment goes? They expand AI data centers.
GoblinSlayer··on London Underground begins scanning passengers' faces
I wonder, if police wanted to search your phone, can they unlock with your fingerprint against your will?
GoblinSlayer··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
That's not a start of the discussion, so it doesn't set the topic, but I'm not against the idea that you tried to derail it.

Two platforms? Facebook and youtube? So regulate those two.

I had NES and a lot of time after school.
GoblinSlayer··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
That too. Presumably in bad families internet doesn't stand out as a problem.
GoblinSlayer··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
The question was why they exist.
GoblinSlayer··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
Safe browsing is filtering, and the result depends on what filter or service you use. It can be a black list or white list, it's an implementation detail invisible to the browser, it just sends a url and receives a reply whether it's ok to open. The only problem is that such filer is not provided yet, or maybe it is, I just don't know, and browsers don't implement switching to this filter.
GoblinSlayer··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
Browsers already support safe browsing - a service that checks opened urls for fishing, so safety can be provided as a mode of such service (app store can check app url there). Also it doesn't really need to go through government, AFAIK DuckDuckGo and some DNS providers implement such feature independently.
GoblinSlayer··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
This, it boomeranged.
GoblinSlayer··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
They are possible, not necessary.
GoblinSlayer··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
All people were kids and know first hand what it means to be a kid, no need for vetted authority on that.
GoblinSlayer··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
1) venue is in meatspace, 2) age can be eyeballed, 3) they don't routinely hoard data, 4) they don't routinely leak hoarded data, 5) they aren't monopoly with billions of users routinely extorted for PII, 6) they don't routinely leak all that hoarded data, 7) they don't have bots, 8) they aren't connected to PRISM for routine surveillance, 9) they don't routinely leak all the hoarded data, 10) they don't sell hoarded data on black market, 11) they don't sell hoarded data to thousands of business partners, 12) they don't have thousands business partners that routinely hoard, leak and resell data

Maybe that's why metabase was hacked - to conceal sale of data. "It's just a hack, it happens, we fixed the hole, nothing to see here until we find the next buyer".

GDPR doesn't mandate cookie consent, and DMCA allows reverse engineering. Didn't help at all.
