Glohrischi··on Security researcher says Microsoft built a Bitlocker backdoor, releases exploit
I did not throw a stone, i only clarified my counter position for others to understand why I encrypt.

I have one safety concept for everything and not random ones for random devices.

Every machine is encrypted, unlocked per login.

Encryption is basically free so.

My harddrives (laptop, work laptop, desktop, server) contain emails, browser sessions, saved passwords, personal data from family and friends.

I do not want someone stealing my laptop on a train ride potentially being able to have all of that data.

With a proper real backup strategy, i have everything save. I do not need easy access to a hard drive from a broken computer.

But hey you do you :)

Yes in sense of agents to talk to agents. AI talks to another AI. Out with the humans.
Glohrischi··on The main thing about P2P meth is that there's so much of it (2021)
I'm not aware that anyone every tried to do it right.

Like how about you have to do a short course which actually explains to you how a drug works, how to use it correctly, what are potential downsides, what are markers of overuse/wrong use.

And the other main issue with opioids and co: some people really have constant / chronic pain.

Do you know how exhaustive it is to constantly have pain? How annoying it is that you can't just go to bed and sleep?

But also we can't play devils advocate to say "you are not allowed to do drugs to num whatever issue you have" and also "but i don't want to take time and effort of helping you".

Oh i don't want you to kill yourself! But i don't want to spend time tomorrow afternoon either with you.

Our society is very hypcritical in this sense. Honestly i think people just don't want to see homeless people or fentapoeple. Its not about helping, its just about not being disturbed by them.

Don't worry, i never thought I would see someone unable to write fizzbuzz, but it happened 9 years ago.

Also how many people work with linux and can't tell you what 'ls -alh' is doing is staggering (lets ignore the h, even al people struggle hard).

People working with docker for YEARS and don't even understand how docker actually works (cgroups)...

Interviewing was always a bag of emotions in sense of "holy shit my job is save your years to come" and "srsly? how? How do you still have a job?"

Glohrischi··on SANA-WM, a 2.6B open-source world model for 1-minute 720p video
Video games are not the initial motivation at all.

These world models are key for robotic and coherence in video generation.

Give a world model images of a factory, the robot now can simulate tasks and do the best result.

Give a world model images/context etc. and it can generate a coherent world for video generation.

What this world model system might be able to do for us in regards of gaming or virtual reality: Either simulate 'old' environments like the house of your grandparents (gaussian splatting but interactive) or potential new ones like a house, kitchen, remodeling.

It can also be a very interesting easy to approach VR environment were you can start building your world with voice. That would be very intentional. After all world building is not necessarily connected to being able to generate 3d assets. Just because you need to go this route today, doesn't mean you have to do this tomorrow.
