In this case I think it wouldn't cause bugs if the effect of 1 and 2 would be switched. Then everybody would use it like a boolean and that would be fine, only the few people who really want the name-check disabled would use that option.

I didn't think of that - I actually have a Logitech mouse where I can switch between the clicking scrolling and the freewheeling.

I don't think Amazon has that much of a problem with the jailbreaks. I can't see how they would loose any money with it, and who uses them, knows that he can potentially brick the device.
