Another well designed government (UK) website: https://www.gov.uk/
In a world where technology is developing at such a pace, it really is time we stopped worrying about old, poorly built bits of software.
I would expect that hotel is still standing strong for years to come; I think China really are the world leaders when it comes to construction these days (I heard somewhere that they're putting up some insane number of coal power-plants every month?!). What I'd really like to see is an entire prefab, skyscraper filled city built in a year.
Not surprising landlords have caught on either, a good warning to anyone else selling their spare rooms.
Would be nice to see a preview of different bits of the book when written as well.
Just make sure you don't have anyone on the server (client, etc) running SSH attacks on their core routers or UDP floods, because that becomes a nightmare!
Why does the American govt. feel it has the right to choose who can become a nuclear power or not anyway?
It does seem as if the Govt. was desperate and, without any correct process or concrete evidence, scrambled to shutter the site and Dotcom as fast as they could. And now it will hopefully backfire, and the internet will rejoice.
Technically I also own 16x4 core servers in Germany as well, totalling 76 cores!
edit: ps3/wii also, but not sure on the core counts
At the end of the day, both have important roles to play and, in many respects, compliment each other.
Hurrah for NZ though - excellent comments from the judge regarding the flakey-ness of the FBI's case. I expect this might me a major turning point if, as Dotcom has previously stated, the FBI do in fact have very little evidence (and, as I expect, are simply working for their hollywood based overlords).
It does make me worry though; a phone exclusively tied/forced to only one social network is a scary idea.
However, as far as the Diablo 3 launch goes, some thoughts:
+ Blizzard have been doing this for years
+ They know how many people have pre-ordered and pre-installed the game
+ The game is singleplayer, yet they decided upon this online requirement (no offline play, thanks Blizzard)
All in all it's pretty annoying to purchase something and not be able to play it because they simply haven't upgraded their infrastructure for the load they should have expected.
I doubt I'll ever be uninstalling this :)
