F_r_k··on Skirting U.S. sanctions, Europeans launch trade mechanism for Iran

Actually, per capita, the US is worse

Time to get up

F_r_k··on Something mysterious is blocking car key fobs from working in an Alberta town

It will, as most car key fobs also have a RFID in them that the car can read close range (e.g inserted)

F_r_k··on Apple leaves Facebook offices in disarray after revoking app permissions

I agree, but try using an Apple TV without an account...

F_r_k··on Grand Theft Cobalt: Rotterdam

If you're good, you'd buy low and sell high (otherwise you'll go bankrupt), effectively smoothing the market.

An other way to look at it is arbitrage: instead of moving the commodities in space, you move the in time.

F_r_k··on Please do not attempt to simplify this code

You should learn markers in vim; really useful for jumping between marks in the code

F_r_k··on What Closing a Government Radio Station Would Mean for Clocks

NTP ?

F_r_k··on The ‘clean plate’ mentality drives us to overeat?

Except when people serve you and you still must finish your plate

List of wrongful convictions in the USA: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wrongful_convictions...

F_r_k··on After publishers sued Sci-Hub, Russian ISPs are preventing access

F_r_k··on Lime and Bird are growing rapidly

Because their question is old, was refuted a thousand times, and was used by pro ICE vehicles to spread misinformation

F_r_k··on Lime and Bird are growing rapidly

Yet, reading another point of view that you don't necessarily agree on is good

F_r_k··on Ask HN: What's the hardest problem you've ever solved?

I find your point of view very narrow minded. I even admitted cheating in my bachelor's during my Master's thesis presentation.

It was in Switzerland, and culture is different; maybe we're less black and white.

F_r_k··on Surveillance Kills Freedom by Killing Experimentation

I'd rather have neither of those

F_r_k··on Singapore to test facial recognition on lampposts, stoking privacy fears

> how to control your stance or manner

Quite "easy". Put a pebble in your shoe, or some scotch tape on your skin. You'll behave differently

> Someone (human) trained to differentiate authors of handwritten text can often still do so even if an author is actively trying to write differently.

That was never proven. Please cite a (good) source or I'll take it to be false

F_r_k··on Ozone: The Earth's protective shield is repairing

I find it funny that you would try to correct such a small insignificant detail

F_r_k··on Gates Foundation spent $200M funding toilet research

Solar panels were (are) a multi million dollar research project.

Yet they cost next to nothing and are really easy to operate and install

F_r_k··on Friendly Floatees

Concerning the Iridium emitter, of course you wouldn't let it idle at 34mA. It would need to be shut down with a mosfet like and only be turned on when needed (twice a week for example)

F_r_k··on Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication Could Replace Traffic Lights, Shorten Commutes

It can be whatever charge you want, but at the end, some people are dead anyway

F_r_k··on Ask HN: What is it like to run a VPN as a business?

If it's (nearly) free, them you're the product

F_r_k··on Tell HN: Executing a 51% attack on a real live CryptoCurrency, livestream

What time UTC ?

F_r_k··on Tesla meets Q3 production goals of 50,000 to 55,000 Model 3s

I loved that you "think", but the reality is that you just don't know at all

F_r_k··on Ticketmaster recruits pros for secret scalper program

Welcome to a totalitarian state

F_r_k··on Ticketmaster recruits pros for secret scalper program

The alternative is what ? Someone buys them all and it's the same all over again ?
