Interesting. HN will let me submit a comment that contains emoji just fine (no error in dev tools network log or UI) but it doesn't show up in the thread (at least for me, if there's a stream of emoji from me testing that I can't see I apologize).

I don’t see the world this piece presents panning out. Either we make general intelligence (which then scales almost instantly to be way, way smarter than any human ever and then accidentally kills us [1]) or we don’t and humans still have a role to play in the workforce.

But to do what? If the economic future this piece presents is right then AI will be able to do everything that humans do.

The difference between this and previous tech improvements is that this one replaces human thought, not manual labor. That’s fundamentally different than everything that’s come before.

How does this work? I was under the impression that when I clicked a link in a webpage it just opened that link as if I'd typed it into my URL bar. How does jwz know were I'm clicking from?
