EStudley··on Chipotle Says Adios to GMOs, as Food Industry Strips Away Ingredients
People don't want GMOs because they've been force-fed propaganda by the anti-GMO crowd.. go ahead and place GMO labels on everything, and see how many people still oppose it when they find their favorite food with a GMO label on it.
EStudley··on How to Center in CSS
I would love a flexible anchoring system like QML for CSS.
EStudley··on Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust
The price of Bitcoin in early 2014 was based on popularity and hype. I really think that the normalization of a price for Bitcoin is good for the currency, and that's what I've seen happening.
EStudley··on The Old Pirate Bay
I've heard that this site has been redirecting people to a .ee site which asks for a donation to use. This is a malicious site.
EStudley··on You can take down Pirate Bay, but you can’t kill the Internet it created
I think content producers are going to come to the realization that they can't create large-scale applications for their shows that users will actually WANT to use.
EStudley··on Peter Sunde: 'I went to jail for my cause. What did you do?'
I wouldn't say that. I'd say they care about encryption/their personal security, but they don't care in the slightest what the implementation is.
EStudley··on What Xfinity Internet Data Usage Plans will Comcast be Launching?
If I purchase one steam humble bundle, I'd blow through a quarter of my data cap just downloading the games.
EStudley··on What Xfinity Internet Data Usage Plans will Comcast be Launching?
If you go over 5 GB you actually lose that $5 savings, so no matter how much over you go you are losing out.
EStudley··on What's New in C# 6.0 [video]
I knew I'd seen that somewhere before, good call. There's a lot of things in coffeescript I'd love to see in other languages.
EStudley··on Global Web Crackdown Arrests 17, Seizes Hundreds Of Dark Net Domains
I've heard reports that Feds were actually moderators of SR2 from the very start. So from the beginning they were actively building a case against the other owners.
EStudley··on [dead]
This is exactly the kind of article that was written, edited, and published by and for people who don't understand anything about technology.
EStudley··on Liberia signs 'transformational' deal to stem deforestation
I don't think he means the money, I believe he meant distribute the workers.

More likely than not a majority of the people cutting trees down in Liberia are going to continue cutting trees whether the government wants them to or not.

EStudley··on U.S. judge awards $40.7M in SEC case over Bitcoin Ponzi scheme
I'm curious as to how they dealt with that price evaluation.. Is this the first Bitcoin related SEC case?
EStudley··on Hyperlapse, Instagram's new video stabilization app
Would that be against the App store rules? I know there's rules about making fake apps with similar names, but what if yours was there first?

The price change makes it obvious that he wants to make money off this opportunity.

EStudley··on Inside a Chinese Bitcoin Mine
There is no reason factories like this would WANT to disrupt the Bitcoin network if it's their source of income.. If any organization can get enough hashrate to topple the network, they will lose all that money by toppling the network.
EStudley··on Write Code Every Day
When did you find yourself getting most of your coding done? Mornings? I'd love to try something like this, but it will probably mean writing code at like 6 am..
EStudley··on An iOS Developer’s Wishlist
If it works, why not implement it? Do they have to disregard anything Google does first?
EStudley··on Bitcoin drops 50% overnight as China’s Biggest BTC exchange stops Yuan deposits
Money isn't serious?!

I knew crypto-currencies were popular in the higher social strata but COME ON.. how is money not serious?

EStudley··on Bitcoin drops 50% overnight as China’s Biggest BTC exchange stops Yuan deposits
If I wanted these kinds of comments I'd go to reddit.. Keep memes off this site please, it's one of the last public forums on the internet without them.
EStudley··on Darien Gap: The Most Dangerous (Absence of a) Road
Wow, those comments really do hit home. I would think he would have a satellite phone or something. Really chilling.
EStudley··on Model S Fire
It wouldn't have been mentioned if it wasn't already the main discussion going on about the video. News outlets love to jump on that kind of controversy, and I saw that comparison as them trying to quell the argument.
EStudley··on Model S Fire
Tesla's write-ups on their blog are the most informative reports I've seen written by a company about their own product. It's awesome to see this kind of transparency as opposed just a copy-paste statement like "Tesla is investigating the event."
EStudley··on Tumblr: ‘It Was the Biggest Game of Chicken I’ve Ever Seen.’
I find it interesting that moot was there talking about Canvas, they really snuck that in in the last paragraph.
EStudley··on Bitlock replaces your bike key with your phone
Yet this product exists now. It could be possible that there's a way to unlock from a laptop, but grogenaut's argument is pretty logical as of whenever Bitlock would launch..

edit: Didn't notice you were OP. If I were to use this product and my phone were to die, what could I do?

EStudley··on HNdigest: The top Hacker News stories in your inbox, on your own terms
Why isn't "1" an option for amount of top links? I would like to receive the best story on Hacker News on a given day.
EStudley··on [dead]
There is absolutely no reason for this to be on Hacker News.
EStudley··on Jagex launches HTML5/WebGL game mode for RuneScape (beta)
It's not gambling that is at the heart of Squeal of Fortune; it's micro-transactions. Runescape has been moving in that direction for a long time to squeeze whatever is left of the remaining player base.
EStudley··on Jagex launches HTML5/WebGL game mode for RuneScape (beta)
It's unfortunate, but this may be too little too late for Runescape. After Jagex was slowly bought by VCs company decisions became less about the experience for the player and more about the bottom dollar.

Maybe this will be enough to bring back some of their lost subscribers, but who knows.

EStudley··on Jagex launches HTML5/WebGL game mode for RuneScape (beta)
Also logging in to the website does require that you have java installed.
EStudley··on Making a Physical Product
All that work and there's still a typo on the first sentence, second page.
